I'm at it again.

That's how I think it works, don't quote me on it, i can look it up for you though give me a couple minutes.
Alright I did a bit of research for you, not on the crossfire but on the 4 series.
One 4870 with an older cpu gets 35+ fps maxed out. With this cpu I'd say 40-50 steady? with a 4870 instead of two 4830s.
35 fps in cf? so the single 4870 is better then 2 4839's? -

and is it possible to just get 2 500 watts and link it up?
It's cheaper because it's a VERY weak card.
VERY.
It's not even a gaming card. Just more so for everyday use.
As for the 500 watts. No. Edit: Well yes, but no. It's insanely instable. -

For me, the best card you'll find around is an ATI 4870.
Damn Phenom II Quads are so cheap there.
But but but, I got a Tri-Core Phenom II + Asus AM3 mobo + Radeon 5770 for £80 recently
AMD 4870. They changed names recently.
Phenom II tri-core? You should unlock a 4th core on it. Whats the core clock? -

I refuse to not call em ATi >_< I love ATi.
3.5ghz per core. I might not unlock the 4th core though, since this isn't gonna be a gaming machine, more, an entertainment machine (pr0n machine).
Though it won't have a problem with handling most games stably, so I may unlock it, meh.
I bought 2 SteelSeries QcK Pro mousepads today for £5, I are happy

Pfft I used to snipe with that in Monaco

Yes.1of300sparta wrote: »ok so this rig will fulfill my needs of moderately high end gaming,(at least 60 fps in cf) and some recording and editing? cause i always wanted a montage
3.5 ghz on a triple. Possibly unlocking...80 euros...I EFFING HATE YOU! Mail me it freeCookieMunzta wrote: »I refuse to not call em ATi >_< I love ATi.

For recording (at least XFire wise) in CF, since it's so CPU intensive, you'll want at least 3GB RAM, and a Tri-Core (though those are rarer, just buy a Quad-Core). You don't need an amazing GPU, you could even use a 4650.
You'll have a nice high stable fps whilst recording. -

Did you even read the build?
4gb of ram
Phenom 955 black edition quad

Lol, i have my dad constantly getting mad at me because I do nothing but sit on the computer.
Lul. Apparently I do nothing.
Even though I spend 90% of my time keeping up with technology. -

I agree!
On a side note, I did a bit of calculating, a 500 watt psu could possibly handle it if your not doing non stop gaming. -

ti's a shame then, that i play for 12 hours at times, but say if im web surfing for like 12 hours, thats ok right?
if you build up static electricity on your body and a shock passes from your body to something like a CPU chip, that CPU chip is dead. You will have to buy another one.
^how do i fix that, so the 2 500 watts thing could work? -
I know this is probably a hi-jack of your thread but I have a question
With the gfx card I'm getting, it comes with a DVI to VGA adapter. Does that mean I can use my monitor which is VGA hook up, connect it to the adapter and plug it into the DVI port of the gfx card? If so, I wont need to buy a new monitor and I can save about $150 -

Don't do a two power supply set up.
It's unstable and dangerous.
websurfing? Probably. Lots of youtube videos. Depends?
And yeah, static electricity will simply fry a chip, ALWAYS before you touch a component place your hands on the metal on the inside edge of the case to discharge any static, then insert the chip, and don't build it on carpet...
