Modifications to the game?

I would say changing images/text is fine, people do change kill images.

you can change anything that isn't in the .rez files legally.
i don't advise changing the fonts, it's an incredibly long and boring process that just gets patched in 1 or 2 patches.

No one will find out.... so go ahead and do anything you want with the Rez files. People have changed various images of "sprays" and I've never heard of anyone being banned for doing so.

You would only get "banned" if they catch you making changes that give you an advantage in-game.

You are allotted to change the user interface. It's in the directory [C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\UI]. That is basically the game menu that you see when you log in, to when you are in the game lobby, to the item shop, to the black market, to the end of the game.

That's known as the user interface, once again.

There's also others that you can edit.

Basically, anything that you don't have to "hack" into or edit the coding to change the game's look will be accepted. And otherwise, it's not like everybody can edit to hear footsteps from every side of the map.

That's what we call client-sided. Client-sided means only you can see it on only your client.

Server-sided, on the other hand, means everyone can see it. It's like a speed hack. It edits codes, but everyone sees you speed hacking.

There are client-sided edits that shouldn't be happening such as breath and footstep edits.

So, here is a question for ya'll.

Is it considered a client side mod to modify the ghost's breath loop to a higher volume or to a different noise? Technically, it only effects the user's gameplay but it does give him an advantage.
