High ping problem.

Hello, I've got 150 - 200 ping all the time on crossfire and im really tired of everyone complaining because im lagging and because i can't kill people fast. Does anyone know how to fix this?

My specs are: ATI 5770 1GB video card, AMD ATHLON X3 processor, 2 GB Ram, 870A-UD3 Gigabyte motherboard

My crossfire is installed on a SSD if that helps. (I had the same problem when i had it installed on the HDD) I just formated my computer so spyware or any other kind of virus is not the problem. I live in sweden and i have 10 MB/S Download and 1 MB/S Upload.
I'm not downloading anything while playing.

My ping is really good on cs:s and on other fps games but not on crossfire.

its probably because you live in sweden... im not sure but i think that crossfire servers are hosted in the US. Giving you a high ping

What servers? In Alpha/Charlie/Bravo that's a normal ping, in UK you should be under 50.

I'm playing on the UK servers
and my friends who's also playing from sweden has around 30 ping all the time.

Do you have same ISP as your friends? Do you use wireless?

I dont have the same ISP as him but could that be the problem? :O
I am using wireless but the router is ½ meter away from my comp (I have no idea why im using wireless) I'll try with a wire later and see if it's any different

You can also try Game Booster (google it). It will turn off anything using your net in the background.

Some ISP's are crappier than others. If you don't have fiber and still have DSL make an upgrade. If I remember right Sweden is one of the top countries when it comes to internet speed.

My computer is very good and I just formated it 4 days ago so gamebooster wouldn't do anything.

Another thing. Try a ping test at PingTest.net. Make sure you choose servers from UK and don't use your internet for p2p downloading. If you have high ping there your ISP has problems, if not there's something wrong between you and CF servers.

Twizz just think about it, if you are brazil or you live too far from any of these servers which is located in Cananda, US, and Europe then you are in a bad luck you will lag forever and changing internet wont change a shet. It all depends how far you are from server all brazilians are freaking lagers with 170+ ping and i am so sick of them tanking all the shots.

Pick an UK server. A server in Sweden is irrelevant. On the Romanian servers (I'm from Romania) I have ping lower than 10.

Is is happening to several people... Its because of the cf server.
My ping rose from 25 to 225 in UK 1+2 after Xmas patch.
And to 50 in UK 3+4 i live in The Netherlands.
And in Alpha beta etc its always above 100.
There are already threads about this.
I made a thread too, still no improvement, answer, anything
They even deleted my post -___-
