AWM vs DSR!
This is how the format works. Im getting 2 ultimate game cards for my birthday. So which should I buy. AWM or DSR. Put which one then give me a very good example or reason why AWM/DSR is better.

Put both, and set out the pro's/con's.
My background with snipers: DSR-1 I'm pretty even with AWM. I can use both pretty well. I'm not awming often nor using DSR. So which?! DSR-1 everybody says it takes no skill. I mean the only difference is it's semi-automatic. AWM is supposedly more pro? I don't know... I mean it still takes skill to hit the person. I've had a much much 4x longer history with AWM than DSR. I've used M700 more than I've used DSR.

modes with respawn (elimination for example): DSR-1
why?
-Faster RoF
-Stays scoped in, good for tracking the target
Modes that need to make all the shots count (SnD for example): AWM-anything
Why?
-Good 1x and 2x scope, better for precision
-The variations come in hand with their +5 bullets bonus
-quicker draw time
-quickscope capability -
This has been questioned several times on the forums. People call the DSR-1 noob because it doesn't have to un-scope before you fire again, and it is easier to no scope with.
In my opinion, the DSR-1 is better. I never used the second zoom level on the AWM, so the middle level zoom on the DSR-1 is better for me. Also the DSR-1 takes just as much skill as the AWM, people just rage a lot.
I've used, and owned both of them. With the AWM, I quick scoped a lot, so I had no reason to stay back and pick 'em off. I could run up there and quick scope two or three people before someone got me.
If you like quick scoping, I recommend the AWM. If you don't mind being called a camper for staying in one place until you reload, I would suggest the DSR-1.

I've already said this before.. The DSR-1 is in-fact semi-auto in real life. You simply need to have the semi-auto firing mechanism installed in it. It has both bolt action and semi-auto mechanisms. -

Yea. I do kinda like DSR, but awm I do very well with. I mean i'm not an awmer, but at times I can clutch with awm pretty good.I like the DSR for its midrange zoom, but im a camper...either one will serve you very well, awm is good for SnD, DSR for any camping -
DSR does feel slow. That's why I don't use it.
I have both but I mainly quickscope so I prefer AWM. Why?
Faster reload/pulling out.
Variable zoom, first scope for QS'ing and second for legitimate sniping.
Just answer yourself these questions. Do you see yourself using a sniper more the assault rifles in the future? Do you sit in one spot if when you snipe? -

no i don't I like to move a bit. I don't sit one spot. Max 5-10 seconds just to wait for someone to come up, and boom I move. Other than that. I move around. If I miss I move a bit back, and wait. Other than that. I only sit if I have something strategical which isn't often, so I mainly move. DSR-1 has an amazing no-scope though. -

All I'm saying is, that if you plan to chill in one area the DSR is more suited. It's a snipers sniper (if that makes sense)
yea I'm really going towards DSR it actually has a faster reload. The sound of the pull back is just a bit extended over. So the DSR is statistically better. Nobody will call me noob. Trust me I can own with AWM to, but the DSR just seems like a better more modern fit. Worst case I got 20k ZP? I mean Im gonna get like 20k GP and 40k GP which is 7k name change 11k gone then 9k I think I might savour it. I might just use both on CF then buy a runescape card (when hackers are really high I play this yea its low life, but idk. It's kinda fun?) -

lol i remember him ^.... yea DSR has a modern look. AWM has a warfare look. Aren't they the same length? Seems like it... :P. I think awm though because it's just more of my style the zoom on the DSR isn't very good. -

I've seen a lot of stupid people crying about non-moving snipers. This is a game, and the major part of a game that makes it enjoyable is the real life experience. In real life a sniper DOESN'T MOVE, or else he will be spotted and killed (enemies have snipers too, also enemies have heavy Machine Guns to spray at the sniper's firing position). This whole thread is stupid by definition, a sniper is supposed to stay low and fire at long ranges with a very high accuracy, so any sniper rifle in CF is best if you can manage the weapon. Asking about what rifle is the best and about pros and cons of awm and dsr is also dumb, since you will only get as an answer an opinion that is NOT yours. Some guy saying AWM or DSR is better DOESN'T make you understand how to use that weapon, and it doesn't make you better using it, you are just being driven by other people into using a gun that you may or may not ever learn how to handle it. Too many people with their spit running out their mouths are facing the monitor while firing a scarlight, are pretty s.hit at shooting people because they can only aim at walls, yet they all cry "hack f11" when they get killed by an M4. Exactly the same goes for AWM and DSR. Just buy the dam weapon and see what you can do with it. You being good with that gun doesn't mean it's good,it only means that you know how to use it.
