Having problems hearing guns and/or footsteps???
My little brother had this same exact problem. How i fixed it is:
1. Find if you have any Audio Codec packages installed. ( look under your start menu )
2. Uninstall the codec packages you have installed
3. go to Google and look for K-Lite Codec Pack. ( I found it on Freecodecs.com)
4. Install the new codec package
5. YAY it works!!!!!
Now im not saying this will work for everyone but it worked in this case. BTW he is running SoundMax AC '97 Intergrated sound card.

This has nothing to do with how good ur headphones are. I use the cheapset ear buds you can buy with the same sound card as him and i hear everything. The problem is most PCs dont come with the codec for CF Rez sounds already in them. Don't get me wrong i still haven't found the actual codec that fixes it but I do know that it is in this Package.
Edit: I see what your saying now. No this is for people that cant hear it AT ALL. As in they hear the Radio and Killmark noises, But no Gun sounds or Footsteps. -

I can not get into the crossfire, so enter the "Corruption detected game, Closing the Game" and has tried to do all what the media help, could someone help me? this error started when I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, please have to play crossfire

Nice suggestion that. I haven't seen a solution mentioning codec problems before. I know there are alot of audio codecs out there and just as a file or driver can get corrupted codecs can also cause havock for any audio files.
To moobilete, try the search function, lots of suggestions for you to try there. Please don't hijack someone else thread with a different issue.
Just search for Corruption detected -

Ya it took me a long time to find the one he needed. I just knew that had to be it cause he has the same exact sound hardware as me just newer. So if I could hear the sounds he shouldnt have a problem. I tried finding just the 1 CF uses but had no luck so i tried this package hoping it would contain the one i needed and I got lucky and it did. So i posted this cause I've seen many ppl with this problem with all differant sound hardware, and codecs are Uni.

didn't work for me
I am having the same issue...however, I just did a clean install of Win 7 Ultimate, installed k-lite full version, installed CF and still no luck. This is so ridiculous; I don't get why CF doesn't include ALL necessary codec with their install package. My game was working fine untill I had a hard drive failure, now the guns, foot falls and breath sounds are not working but all others do...makes no sense and I for one am getting very frustrated. Not only at having to put up with all the freakin hakr noobs out there that are completely ruining what could be a great game, but now I can't even enjoy the game itself. This is such a poorly coded game it's really sad. My pings used to be 63 from Florida and now after the last x-mas patch, I average over 200...WHAT ARE THEIR DEVELOPERS DOING? Come on CF...get your $#!@ together! Answer some of these forum post at the very least and help us out!
WOW REALLY SAD AND FRUSTRATED!
