I lol'd that guy was either female and had a sex change whilst pregnant, or he/she just hasn't shat for a year, it will be like giving birth when he does go though D:
  • Only for you bic boi, Only for you <3;)

And Viki, I believe it was a woman with a sex change who kept her junk in the trunk.

    Good work. :D

I would love to be a woman! :D Always wondered what it was like from the other side if you know what I mean.

    Both explanations are possible D:

Are you trolling or are you serious? i can't say I know what you mean because I have never desired to be a man D:

    Seriously.

Green ranger, get your stretchy spandexy self over here and GIVE IT TO ME.

    No I kid.

    Or not.

    Maybe.

    I'm hot.

Not really a desire, curiosity of what it's like being a woman. o_O Not something I'd ever do. No doctor is ever going to slice my thing and turn it into another thing...

That is just messing with nature, no wonder the human race is so messed up all we do is prat around with nature ¬¬

I'm inclined to agree, genetic modification is idiotic.

    As is embryo infertilization.

    Etc. Etc.

You're gunna have to try a lot harder than that young man. At LEAST take me out to dinner and a movie first.

Not that I don't agree with you on this subject, but having an open mind is what got our civilization to this level.

The only one I understand and allow is the one where the mans sp.erm is put in an egg then put in a woman, because without that, women who are infertile would never have kids of their own.

Open mindedness is one thing. Changing humans to fit our own desires is creepy.

I have nothing against gay people, I have nothing against them becoming another gender. I have a problem with people changing a babies eye color while it's in the womb out of vanity.

I don't disagree with you, but what about preventing a malformation? Removing genes that cause certain diseases/syndromes?

The same road leads both places, we can't prevent it from happening over someone's vanity as it could help so many people. Unfortunately there will always be people that abuse things...

The world is becoming over populated as it stands.

Not only that the price of preventing the deformation would be financially crippling for the rest of a normal persons life.

Of course there will be things that will be capitalized upon, especially the cosmetics. I would assume a lot of the preventive surgeries (if we could call them that), but I would hope life saving procedures would remain covered by health care. Either way, more options never hurt.

Health care will not pay for preventive surgery, not when 10,000 baby boomers a day will be going on health care. I'd be surprised if my generation will even have health care to fall back on.

By the time this "technology" is developed enough for that use, the baby boomers will be near the end of their natural lifespans. Our generation is already coping with the debt's of the boomers, I would hope it would be straightened out by then...

EDIT: Totally liked your old name better.

aTastymuffin is my 1.6 pubbing name.

    Always loved it.

The debt of the baby boomers? More like the destruction of whatever shred of financial safety my generation had, social security is an unstable institution, Health care is failing, those technologies are already being phased in, I give it a decade.

Baby boomers are at around their 60's. While the research in these fields is beginning to show fruit, it's still a ways off of being on that level. Basic embryonic manipulation might become accessible in 10 years, but I'd be surprised if what we're talking about is here in 15-20 years. by then we're talking at least 75-80 years for them boomers, median age for death for developed countries is around the 74 year mark.

In medicine genetic engineering has been used to mass produce insulin, human growth hormones, follistim (for treating infertility), human albumin, monoclonal antibodies, antihemophilic factors, vaccines and many other drugs.[41] Vaccination generally involves injecting weak live, killed or inactivated forms of viruses or their toxins into the person being immunized.[42] Genetically engineered viruses are being developed that can still confer immunity, but lack the infectious sequences.[43] Mouse hybridomas, cells fused together to create monoclonal antibodies, have been humanised through genetic engineering to create human monoclonal antibodies.[44]

Genetic engineering is used to create animal models of human diseases. Genetically modified mice are the most common genetically engineered animal model.[45] They have been used to study and model cancer (the oncomouse), obesity, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, substance abuse, anxiety, aging and Parkinson disease.[46] Potential cures can be tested against these mouse models. Also genetically modified pigs have been bred with the aim of increasing the success of pig to human organ transplantation.[47]

Gene therapy is the genetic engineering of humans by replacing defective human genes with functional copies. This can occur in somatic tissue or germline tissue. If the gene is inserted into the germline tissue it can be passed down to that person's descendants.[48] Gene therapy has been used to treat patients suffering from immune deficiencies (notably Severe combined immunodeficiency) and trials have been carried out on other genetic disorders.[49] The success of gene therapy so far has been limited and a patient (Jesse Gelsinger) has died during a clinical trial testing a new treatment.[50] There are also ethical concerns should the technology be used not just for treatment, but for enhancement, modification or alteration of a human beings' appearance, adaptability, intelligence, character or behavior.[51] The distinction between cure and enhancement can also be difficult to establish.[52] Transhumanists consider the enhancement of humans desirable.

    We are getting there.

For sure, and I'm excited to see what's to come. The study of gene manipulation has been an extensive part of the last few decades, but tampering with our DNA isn't a simple feet. To be able to change our eye color, skin color, etc is something that I don't see happening over the next 2 decades (on a commercial level). Still well within our lifetimes though.

It can be done already at non genetic levels obvious. MJ is an example. cough.

I'm not excited, only because we don't know the long term complications of tampering with our bodies in that way.
  • We're talking embryonic gene manipulation and last time I checked you're not an embryo ;)

And you don't sound like the type that wants a different colored baby so you're safe. On the flip side, If your future wife gets pregnant and your future son/daughter is diagnosed with [x] that would threaten his life or cost either you or the health care system a lifetime of expenses, you might have a more positive outlook... just sayin'

Hey! I'd love to have a black baby as long as it looks like this.
