FPS Lag on Certain Maps
So this is probably a stupid question but I'm gonna ask it anyway since I am by no means a computer whiz. Why do I get FPS lag on some maps while on other maps my FPS is fine? For example, I normally play the Lab map for GM instead of Lost Relics because when I play Lost Relics my FPS drops to below 10 while in Lab its normally 25-30. Thanks for any help you can give!

idk, i'm not a computer whiz either. =P
it's because it has to renderize and process more areas in bigger maps, it's also noted that open maps do not lag as much as closed maps where you only see a small portin of the map .-.
try making your configs low or change your graphic card+processor and adding some RAM memory

The answer is simple, you are a ret4rd that never knew bigger maps consume more fps than smaller maps...RawrJafrikan wrote: »The answer is simple. Your poor and cant afford a good computer with enough power to play a pretty low power consuming game like CF.
yw,come again please.
No matter how fps does he haves bigger maps will consume more fps than smaller maps from him and from any other CF player.
so he will have lower fps on bigger maps (-1 or -10 or idk it depends on his PC right?) -

1. bigger map
2. more bright [ 2 many colours ]
3. if in lab you get 25-30 fps who cares? i cant play with a lowe fps then 50 and I usually get 70-80 in 8v8's.
You cant play good with 30 fps. So who cares if u have 10 or 30? U anyway wont do better -
Welp, thank you for your answers. Apparently I'm a poor girl who isn't a computer whiz and who shouldn't play Crossfire because my fps rarely goes above 30 and I will get powned by people who have more money and therefore higher fps
But a serious thank you to those who provided helpful answers

You're used to around 70 FPS.
Other people are used to 10 FPS, 30 FPS, and so on.

that's a pretty dumb statement.
this game is poorly coded, i know people that get 100+ fps on cod, with med graphics up but lower than 30 on this game -

i run at 494.3 fps as an average (long story but my comp owns) but im getting 3 second pauses in my game like once every 12 games or so... usually kills me but meh thankfully its not often. as for you problem it can be the eviroment try lowering the graphic settings . Sometimes its just as little as a smoke grenade that lowers ure fps.

The size of the map does effect my FPS... The bigger the map, the lower my fps... but only a few times my fps is actually dropped majorly, most of the times in big maps my fps drops only a few... However the only thing that seriously effects my FPS is when I walk into smoke from smoke grenades and sometimes flash bangs... >.>
