in the end ATI is better, a card is not going to be rated bad just from one person's experience whether it was through ignorance or defective. I think you need to calm down, G2 wasn't flaming the description you listed sounded like an inadequate PSU. For a person with that many degrees you don't seem so mature/intelligent.(flame) LIKE I said, ATI is better overall

So your opinion is based on what?

Please explain how you arrive at this decision.
what was your inspiration, education on the subject (ATI vs Nvidia)
and where is or are the statistics that support your claim?

My inspiration was simply to build an affective gaming computer at a economical price

here is what i'm going to ask you to do,

step 1: go to a book store near you!
step 2: go to the magazine section!
step 3: go to PC gamers magazine! (You will find out I was right!)
step 4: Read inside, there will be numerous test conducted on Nvidia vs ATI, with fps rates with multiple games.

    If you're still not convinced!

step 5: go to the computer book section!
step 6: find a computer hardware book that is up to date!
step 7: you will that the benchmark rates for ATI are higher than Nvidia.

  • I educated myself when I first started building these systems,
through overclock.net and other sites like it
they give a thorough chart and comparison if you look at several different
    site's
If you look at this chart that is posted in a link I will post,
It shows each card and which card compares to which card
all cards made by one company do not share the same frame rate and
    reputation's
so saying all of one brand is better is False

    Summary

There you have it folks; the best cards for the money this month. Now all that’s left to do is to find and purchase them.
Don’t worry too much about which brand you choose, because all of the cards out there are close to Nvidia’s and ATI’s reference designs. Just pay attention to price, warranty, and the manufacturer’s reputation for honoring the warranty if something goes wrong.
Also remember that the stores don’t follow this list. Things will change over the course of the month and you’ll probably have to adapt your buying strategy to deal with fluctuating prices. Good luck!

I'm done the guy is illiterate...
  • It seems to me that anyone that posts that their opinion is that nvidia has performed well for them should be bashed by the people that think ATI is better
    No matter what.

I say let the guy make an educated decision.
Not well I wanted to build a cheap computer so I got ati and it works good
I posted links and charts to places he can compare and decide for himself.
Is there something wrong with that?

Or do you have to impose your Beliefs so that everyone believes as you do

buying Nvidia over Ati is like buying Amd Phenom II over Intel i7

So now dont take this the wrong way

all nvidia should go out of business and toss all the cards in the trash
    Right?

and all NVIDIA cards are garbage. Period.

Is this what you are saying?

yes i read about Apple going to ati because of heat issue's and GPU failures

this due to the generation of chips Nvidia has used
but as apple and Nvidia state as soon as the new chips are out and the heating problem solved Apple will be going back to Nvidia
    as supported by this article

so indeed you are correct for the time being.

once again, Nvidia and cool cannot exist in the same sentence
  • It's ok, nothing special. Heres a better one - Gigabyte GV N250OC-1GI Graphics adapter - 1 GB - GDDR3 SDRAM. Little more price around £20UK mores thats $30-35 USA
  • Nvidia or ATI

Lost your card drives but it's a new card?

Nvidia - They release there graphic cards drives before they start selling the card that the drivers where designed for and.

ATI - They sell the product before releasing drivers on the web, if you go to there website and you have a old graphic card there drives you download will not work because they won't be able to update.

    Nvidia Wins
  • that's good, but if you want higher fps pick Radeon
    like fallout said

Quote by Fallout: i would go with ati, they consume less power and obviously don't over heat because of this, as posted before it would be better than the 9500.
