Current mistakes on guns made by the Devs...
Current mistakes made:
1. M12s isn't suppose to be over powered... It should be obvious to the Devs that the M12s is a crappy gun, because it can't kill people effectively compared to most SMGs, as seen in REAL LIFE.
2. Thompson... the accuracy is extremely horrible at long-range in real life why the hell did they even made it as accurate as you see in CF?
3. MP7 suppose to be an armor piercing gun... this gun and even MP5 should of been better than the M12s.
4. How the hell can M60 shoot without a mag?

shovels kill better than a knife... thats why they are used by armies during WWI as silent weapons during trench raids.
As for the rest, i agree.

It depend really, normally the knife would win because you would cut one of the critical veins in the body in the arms or legs. However if you were to have a melee fight, the one with a longer reaching weapon often wins. Applying real life physics to a game argument doesn't really work... too many things to consider. -

i could throw the knife at you easily. i could take more hits of a shovel than someone can with a knife. but yeah...its a game

E-Tools (shovels) are wicked. They're heavy and they have (something) of a blade. They'll split/fracture a skull with ease. Sharpness depends upon the quality of the steel and the amount that the blade has been sharpened. Ergo, no bladed instrument has an advantage simply due to the curvature/shape of the blade with regards to sharpness. That being said, some weapons are better engineered for a purpose than others. Curved weapons are better for slashing, and straight weapons (particularly, straight bladed weapons with a serrated blade, but that's against the Geneva Conventions) are better for stabbing. And whereas slashing may end a fight, it's largely a psychological impact unless one actually hits an artery; stabbing has a better chance of penetrating deep enough to hit a vital organ. On the issue of "cutting crap in half", that has a whole lot to do with physical strength and armor and the like... but you're right so far as a game is concerned.Hypernamer2 wrote: »Exactly

On the whole MP7 MP5 penetration crap, the MP7 fires a high velocity low mass round. AP capabilities it has, but damage capabilities of the MP7 and P90 are dubious at best. Meanwhile, the MP5 fires the same 9mm Para as almost every other (western military) SMG/Pistol. -

AK74U is supposed to be GP, and Winchester Scope to be ZP...
As I know, the M12s uses 9mm bullets. How can it be stronger than a M4A1 ?
How the 9mm P228 can have the same power of the .45 Colt 1911 ?
Why hell Anaconda and Winchester lose power at long range ?
Why the soldier takes sooo much time to reload the Scar Heavy ?
Is the M9 with a silencer ? Because in real life it is very loud. Same thing with FAMAS.
Why FAMAS carry a 25 bullets mag, if there they use 30 bullets mags in real life ?
Why the Glock isnt fully automatic ?
Why the Deagle Gold glows in the dark (seriously, that yellow seems to glow)
Is it hard to trade mags on P90 ? Because its very slow.
The Micro Galil is underpowered.
Isnt the SPAS supposed to be pump action ?

So yes, if you chop of an arm or a leg with it, the blood loss is likely going to kill you, and in this it would be indeed more effective than a knife.
However, the damage of the shovel isn't its biggest flaw. Its the way it hits, that causes the shovel to be the worst noob weapon made for CF. The field shovel strikes horizontally, unlike the axe and knife, even though your opponent gets to see a vertical strike. It covers a 180 degree area around the user, and if a player turns with the strike, 360 degrees. This means that it is virtually impossible to dodge a shovel.
On top of this, there is also a bug in the shovel that causes the hit to register faster than the animation the victim gets to see. So when you are firing at a shoveller who has his shovel raised in the air, you are actually firing at a shoveller who has already hit you. That's why it sometimes look like shovellers are tanking bullets. Between the hit registration and the visual hit there is enough time to put 4 bullets into your opponent. However, because his hit made contact before your 4 bullets did, your bullets get tanked. They have fixed that problem in the katana, which also strikes horizontally, so they should be able to do that for the field shovel as well. But they won't.

M4-adv soundglitched, Dual Desperados soundglitched, MP5/XM8/XM8-adv/Type89/G36k 100% walldamage, M4-regs new pattern.
Someone probably already mentioned the glitched animation for the shovel which has never been addressed. -

1.Completly agree should be more crappy.
2.Thompson bad at long range but a little bit more damage (only a little bit) and slightly more recoil, basicly only close/medium range with more damage and more recoil.
3.MP7 = Great I love this thing just spraying gets loads of kills very underestimated gun could be a bit more powerfull but I RATHER have an extra ammo clip!
(also the MP5's are just fine shouldn't make them better or worse, Kriss Super V should have more damage though should be the most OP'ed SMG but it sucks atm
)
4.Don't really understand what you mean here.. then again I hardly ever picked up a M60
Edit* MP7 is like the AK, QBZ and such once you learn how to use it effectivly its amazing

Omg just thinking of it. CF is so unrealistic and so bugged. This is what i mean by fail patches because after every patch something like this happens but no one ever seems to fix it. ( im talking about the glitches with the guns )
But im still confused over the m12s
Why make it so powerful? Is it purposely powerful for the BR's or something? Did they pay you for this? :O -

Same for other weapons. Reload times are wrong most of the times, for instance, Dual Desperados should take ages to reload. But if you want to make a weapon better, or an animation cooler, such things usually doesn't matter.
Other mistakes include :
- why a tactical reload with AR-70 throw the mag behind, you still need it
- why rack the slide of a gun (or chamber a round) each time you draw it ? You only need to do it once you've put a new mag (and only if you emptied the weapon before).

Actually it is both pump action and semi-automatic.
As for the M12s, it shouldn't be crappy (or else it wouldn't have been use IRL) but making it this good is hard to explain. ROF + 40 rounds, ok for an SMG, but power and accuracy (especially at long range and in full auto), they are at a rifle level...
You forgot the Anaconda-Adv with a magical cylinder holding 8 rounds...

Actually, compared to most modern-day SMGs, the M12s' performance in real life is indeed lacking. In fact, the stats it was given seem more fitting for the MP7. The MP7 packs a similar punch as an M4 carbine, but here it doesn't even pack the same punch as the MP5 that it was meant to replace.
