External Monitor for laptop

So my laptop screen just went out and I'm looking for an external monitor to replace it. The laptop screen is around 15 and 1/2 inches. And I get around 30-40 fps on it.

Will my fps change if I get a monitor of equal or greater size?

Experts answer please.

i doubt FPS will change, (if any, barely)

I ask because I tried connecting my Friend's 22 inch monitor to my laptop and my fps dropped to around 20.

Fps should not change in the least (unless the it's a TV with built in speakers connected through HDMI as there will be some added audio processing, but nothing much).

I use an 24" LED ASUS monitor I got for 150.00 + tax.

Open display properties and make sure you're using 1 monitor at a time (not both laptop screen and external) as dual screen setups require a little more processing power if you don't have a dedicated card.
