Yeah it looks kinda fake, but also, why is it going up?
Tbh, stay away from rain/snow, it just makes the video look cheesy, only do rain if you stay in one place and don't move. -
Here's how to create a realistic looking rain effect.
1.Adding waster drop with DoF(depth of field) will make the FX look much better.To make the DoF just add a box blur to the water drop after you've created it.
2.I'm guessing that you're using the built in rain FX found in the generator tab under the FX panel? Try to imagine what real rain would look like unless you live in Alaska then I'm sorry,you might have to do some extra research on youtube about rain.
Watch this tutorial, I'm not saying you have to do the same thing as he did because that is impossible to do unless you motion track the whole scene first.Just want to give you some references.
