Are you MAD?

  • Penalize those who abuse the kicking system.

How would it work? Sort of the same way the report system does. Save the replay and explain to them what happened. The penalty should be 7 days + taking away some GP. That would teach them not to abuse it and, in my opinion, it would make the game much, much less frustrating. Im sure a ton of people would use this seeing how every is so mad about it atm. Who can blame them? No one likes to get kicked for no good reason.

    So what do you think?

Would be good if it worked but sadly reporting hackers doesn't even work as I've been saying for ages and here's why...

Z8 have an unmanageable system for reporting just like they do kick vote.

It doesn't work but "that's all we have" is their attitude.

What they need to do is filter out reports and there are ways of doing that just as there are ways of improving kick vote.

The devs should add in game reporting but with a twist, that being a certain number of players must report the same player before an hack report is sent otherwise black hole the report, why? because 3-4 noobs is better than 1 when it comes to reporting because any noob can report anyone by himself right now.

or set up a group of volunteers to review replays without the power to ban, their job would be to filter the cr.ap out.
  • Eh? The Mods are actually responding without closing the thread?!?! AMAZING!!!

I think Ive stated this countless times... The Ingame reporting needs to come. I understand that your guy's job is probably tiresome... but if you want to make this game better... Somone needs to work.

Get Player Mods or something... Ill be happy to bann 1 shot kills, Walking through walls, or No reload hackers... :)

    You mean something like this:

It has already been implemented in other CF versions. Like the lastest, CF Russia.

These two things should be combined. I'm assuming that any kind of score keeping in terms of number of times a player has been reported for hacking is something that would be automated, that is to say, a computer would take care of it.

However, the current report system is too subjective to be used to tally how many times a player has been reported. For example, how could a computer keep track the number of reports on a player if the reporters couldn't spell the hacker's IGN identically every time. What would be good is a "Report this Player" button close to every players name after the round. This button would link to a report layout similar to the one that already exists, except the hackers name would be automatically registered, the replay would be automatically saved as well. The reporter then fills out the time, type of hack, # of rounds etc.
To avoid the obvious problem of the support staff being flooded with reports, one then, sets a minimum amount of reports needed before someone from the support staff has a look at it the combined reports. Easy for a computer to keep track of how many times a player has been reported if the names are automatically recorded every time. The minimum would have to be quite large in order to separate legits from hackers, although either would probably slip through from time to time, unfortunately.

I know that I always want to report a hacker after I see one. I'm assuming that other players do as well. This system would help them do that and would also keep the workload for the support staff down, having an automated system remove the subjectivity from the current system. I can't really suggest a minimum # of reports needed before that players name is flagged for investigation, since I don't know how many reports there are currently each day. That number of daily reports would probably go up as well if this system were to be implemented, as more people would use the "Report This Player" button to report people.

    AfterThoughts:

-Once a players name is flagged for investigation, the staff would probably only have to look at a small percentage of the combined reports since all it takes is the hacker being caught once on replay and he is permabanned.
-The "Report this Player" button can only be used once every 60 minutes or so, making it difficult for people to spam the button, and making it near impossible for immature players to report every other person that kills them.

Both suggestion will cause soooo much work for the GMs.

Every single room on each server x 10 (# of kicks per game) = # of replays

Each person getting kicked is reporting, thats impossible to process every single report, it'll take them till next year to finish watching all the replays reported this week.. blah blah

    no

so again I reported a hacker more than a month ago, nothing yet
it's not a false positive, but a BLATANT chammer

judging by the amount of efforts they put in this - it's will take them more than "till the next year" to do something, as the next year is almost here now already
    L M A O

on another side - this is very lame already, seriously
  • I'm also saying say if the limit needed to report is 4 then four reports don't get sent it is just the one.

1 x report = 4 players using in game reporting with regard to the same player, in the same game.
  • @ Ddott:

Why isn't a report button added ingame, like the started of this thread says...???
U'll get the same amount of work to process...

"HOW MANY ROUNDS DID THE HACK ACCURED" ______________ euhm... if he hacks 1 time =2 hour ban and if he hacked 99 times = 1 week ban...????????? I mean.... WHO THA F*CK CARES....???????????
1 time hacked = 7 times too many = PERMANENT BANNNNNN regardless if he's a noob or a General... regardless if he spends any $$ on ZP or not.... There are enough paying customers who don't hack.... Like me :p

"WHAT TIME DID THE HACK ACCURED"___________ euhm... Will he get less penalty for hacking at 7PM.... or 12 PM...??? The date is saved on the replay file anyway (GM's ask to leave the number in the name of the file)
IF... and I mean IF u do something with that, it could eazyly be saved when u build an in-game reporting system

I mean... Why are u asking info if u ain't gonna do anything with it....?????
It takes us a lot of time to fill in these reports.

Get some GM's online.... playing... let them ban players that are hacking on the spot,
There are soo many that Gm's would catch 100 of them in 1 hour play...
It would also create a fear of using hacks if they know that a GM is arround the corner watching them...
If you build a filter of players that are banned in game, so that if someone reports that player, you don't have to look into that report anymore... It would take a lot of time in the beginning, but i'm certain it would pay off in a very short time...
Z8 would get a lot more Paying customers if players know that hacking is taken seriously...
So in my opinion all of this would create a landslide WIN-WIN situation....

Probably not going to listen, but this is the fundamental reasons to why the Vote kick NEEDS to be implemented in MM and FFA, as well as the in game reporting.

Seriosly, why cant the Gm's just play matchs everyday... Its better than hosting events/tournaments. Why dont you do something useful with that time and help the CF community by banning unlegit hackers. Just go to MM matchs and wait: guaranteed 5 reports an hour. On another account, this will get rid of the "legit player" problem, as you Mods and Gms would be the ones that could decipher if any particular individual is hacking or a master of the game.
