Once again... I can kill knifers and shovelers... But in a sniper's only match, my main focus is to fight snipers... I don't need to waste my time killing a noob knifer when i could be gaining kill streaks by out-sniping people...

OMG Bunch of nerds Knifing people it's so cool if you waste all bullets on aw what you ill do? knife is legal i keep knifing when i can at least i do the assasin badge
i snipe and i knife and i ill do whatever i want so go QQ to somewhere else kid. when i was 14 years old i was in 4 place on counter-strike 1.6 on Scout and knife rank in my town

You must be awefully good to run out of bullets in a sniper match... And if you have teammates.... they'll most likely die at some point so you could take their gun... -

Alright from that distance it's 1 of 3 things.
1 is the ping. Sometimes the position of the players aren't exactly where they are. I figure about.... 2-8 inches from where im aiming at to where the person is on my screen. It's a small difference which is why we can gain headshots and damage. So when the person seems to be in mid-air, he/she has actually landed the jump...
2 it could be that you are right and they're hacking... If that's the case, save the replay and report.
3. Could just be luck -
man the shovelers are so annoying, when you think that you skipped them, the shovel's lag will strike on you from 9000 miles away
Thats the same for axes too T.T Im like.. "oops missed gotta get away. *runs* and then when i get good distance the axe still gets me"

I would go with #3, I have gotten shots as I jumped off of structures plently of times; but the main part of it you have to crouch to get the best 'luck' or 'accuracy'. There is no cheating program involved in this I believe, as even top snipers can manage to do it when they want to at times. -
I feel like most of the people that say it was not an issue just dont play prison very often.
I dont think they should modify the gameplay,but i still think I have the right to insult knifers and their moms.
I dont do this if I get close to somebody and he knifes me because thats what knifes are for.
But if somebody does nothing but rushing and knifing,it is REALLY annoying,especially if his team is dominant,because they can just snipe the prison spawn whilst you gotta fight the melee guy.
Srsly,Prison is not freaking Arena and i will kick each and every permanent knifer out of my team until they understand it. -
its beyond me why there is (and always will be, i m afraid) such a big fuzz over that topic...
if you are constantly getting sliced by knifers on prison, ask yourself :
am i really the sniperbeast i though i was?
anyways, reading all that i think i ll just bring my knife next time on prison. just to annoy. -
Omg.
You can just knife the noob back. When the noob trys to stab you, slash him and kill him. Then he'll probably RQ. Or quickscope at the noob and made him RQ. If you have a shovel, the knifer has a knife, why not shovel him? Tank is the noob has a combat axe or shovel or katana. JUST REMEMBER TO GET A GOOD SNIPER! -
heres an idea since everyone thinks the knife should do 0 damage but think we might be so pro or noobie to get so far and waste all of our ammo
so how about we get unlimited ammo in sniper only matches
or.....
the knife only does damage when you run out of ammo ( of course noobs would probably start wasting their ammo on purpose to use the knife or get killed try'ing ) -

-You shouldn't be in the open to be able to be shot at by three snipers while trying to gun down a knifer. If you can no-scope, then it is meant to be used. If other people are getting knifed while you re-spawn, then they should be more aware of them selves instead of camping while scoped in.

-Knifers are easier to kill then snipers, shouldn't have a problem killing them if you can "pwn" snipers. It's part of the game, live with it? Part of being a good player means having the ability to learn and adapt. Shovelers still have to get within 2-3 feet of you for you to die. having them bounce around is no real problem if you can no-scope, drag-shot or quick scope. which are all sniping techniques. Numerous times I have run out of ammo in my magazine and had to switch to knifing to get rid of immediate threats. Knifers don't like to waste time either, why should they wait for some1 on their team to die?

-If there is a alternate route in the map, again, it is there to be used. Yes its their fault when knifers DO go to the bottom. its not the knifer's fault for using them. it's more your fault for not being aware. they are also in the open when blindly running down the open space of the bottom of Prison. easy kills.
It is how it is and I like it the way it is. Keeps me on my toes. -
I understand AssassinMouse.... Just that sniper only shouldnt be that complicated... Knife only match, you don't have a choice at all.. I believe it should be the same way in a Sniper only match. Knifers are easy to kill I always said that.
What I don't understand is why do I have to waste my time for a person who just wants their assassin badge and can't knife for his/her life, so they go to pick on the snipers. I shouldn't have to adapt or have eyes in the back of my head to kill a knifer in what should be a snipers only match. I can't hear them coming from behind since they have to run through the spawn... So there's really no way to tell. Not saying that the alternate route shouldn't be there, but it's just leverage for a knifer.
Crossfire was meant to be fun and challenging and all that.. But I just don't see why snipers only doesn't translate to snipers only. -

There's only a few points that have been made:
1.) What if they don't have a good sniper? Or no ammo? This is a very likely scenario. In fact, knives were created and are made MANDATORY because it can and will happen to everyone.
Rebuttal: They can wait for a teammate to die and take their gun.
Rebuttal to Rebuttal: There are NO circumstances where anyone with a brain will risk their life to pick up a gun JUST TO GET ON AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD WITH THE PERSON WHO JUST SHOT THEIR ALLY. You wouldn't, don't ask them to. They will just as soon not waste any of their time, and try their luck at knifing.
2.) Knifers are easy kills.
Rebuttal: But not when they're in our spawn!
Rebuttal to Rebuttal: They should never reach your spawn. If they do, you deserve to die. You have nobody to blame but yourself.
3.) They don't run in a straight line, and I can't shoot them until they're *Place exaggerated distance here* away from me!
Rebuttal: You saw them first, and can attack at range. Do what you're supposed to do with a gun. Worst case scenario you miss (unlikely) and can pull out a knife. You're even, right? Wrong. You also had the chance to shoot them at range, which gives snipers the advantage.
Rebuttal to the rebuttal: They can come from behind though, as they are faster than snipers.
Refer to Rebuttal to Rebuttal number two.
If you're making any of these points, stop posting now. They have already been refuted a million times. Please post real reasons to allow or not allow knives, not "OMG I just got killed by a knifer, F11!" or "Dumb idea." We're trying to make an educated choice.
As for me however, I'll cast my vote in the "Dumb idea" category. -
