Frame skipping in vegas? Fix?
When im watching the preview in sony vegas it s**** alot of frames at a time, which makes it not run smoothly... its really hard to work with because i dont know if anything looks good til the finished project. Also it only happens when i put Magic bullet colors in the clip, it works completely fine until then (ive tryed downloading new MBL many times, thats not the problem)
Theres probably a million things that could be wrong, but i think it may have to do with RAM or my graphic card?
I currently have 1022 MB of RAM, so any ideas how to fix it or what i need?

Well you never mentioned that you tried that, and when you say that, it seems like a basic situation that you could fix with a simple solution. So I found it kind of funny hwo you were mentioning you RAM an graphics card.
But since that's not the solution, I honestly don't know how to resolve this. Just render like 7 seconds of the video to see if it's a preview problem or an actual bug in the clip. -
if your computer hardware isn't that good, this is a common problem. the best suggestion i can give you is to make the preview ''draft'' which puts less stress on your hardware.
its very old yeah. ive tryed putting the preview to draft, thats actually what i normally edit on, but when i put MBL in it s**** frames like crazy and makes the preview look completley laggyDJ_Shad0wK1LL wrote: »Well you never mentioned that you tried that, and when you say that, it seems like a basic situation that you could fix with a simple solution. Currently i am working on a large project and due to the amount of editing in some of the clips, even with the lowest preview settings it starts to skip a frame. This is with adding magic bullet/ overlay/regular effects/newblue/ and sometimes 2 clips on top of eachother.
I have 4 gb of ram, a quad core processor, and I record fraps with 100 fps full screen
I suggest rendering bits of the whole project and testing your errors like that. -
I got a super computer and mine always slows down when adding colours :rolleyes:How about disabling colours plugin and try to work? If you don't got a super computer obviously your vegas is going to be slower if you got plenty of plugins. -

How can i do that?Just highlight the section you want to preview and press shift+B. It "pre-renders" that section for you and thus it isn't laggy.
il try this, didnt know about it.
