Im thinking of getting this card:
EVGA geForce 8800 GTS Video Card

Do you think i should get this card or should buy something else to increase my FPS?

Comments

  • Buy the EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS video card. It's pretty good. Though it is expensive, but it's worth it if you're getting under 30 fps.

Graphic card does matter but if you have a kick ass graphics card and a P4 CPU then you wont be going anywhere O_o
  • there is just few games worldwide wich can process with grafikcard chipset like crysis. crossfire is cpu based game. download gpuz and cpuz. and look how much crossfire eats.
  • Alright, first of all you don't want to lag, so your buying a new graphics card.

    Consider this:

    1. High performance graphics cards require great deals of power and produce large amounts of heat. So you might need an extra fan, or new power supply that can account for the graphics cards output.

    2. Check out your computer usage, while running the game normally and in intense combat. Is your computer running at 100% computer usage? The lag may be caused by an under-performing processor, in which you might as well by a new computer because individual processors are very costly and are tricky to install properly.

    3. Observe the amount/quality of ram you have. More Ram means that the computer does not have to store as much virtual memory meaning quicker immidiate performance.

    4. Remember that Crossfire is solely a Multi-player game that requires a reliable and moderately powerful internet connection. Also, note that your "ping" (ms) is also very dependent upon how close you are to the game server - so stick to the one closest to your area!

Well, that was just a few important things I quickly listed here to think about, but there is still a lot more to learn about computer speed, connectivity, and quality. Do some research yourself, and come to the conclusion of the best graphics card for you!
