I don't see minority religious affiliated people being prejudice to gays as often as Christians. No offense.

After seeing you guys talk about this I decided to post again, this is my view point.
I am a Deist that's my "religion." If you don't know what this is I'll explain it, we believe in a higher being who created everything and then let things run it's course, we also believe in the natural way, which is men with woman not men with men.
I was not picked on by gays when I was little, as I said if you knew my life, you'd see that being picked on would have been a luxury.
Don't involve racism into this thread, since it has nothing to do with this.
The world has always been "civilized", if it hasn't then how did we get to where we are now? We didn't evolve, we just stayed with the same traditions and view points as a few people paved new roads. Do you really think that during the renaissance there weren't people who though homosexuality was alright? But this was the opinion of the minority, and the majority who saw this and still see this as unnatural said and knew it was wrong. -

Achem. Islam actually says to kill gays. (though the unwritten law seems to contradict that. just look at their culture.)
and not many MAJOR religious groups openly support gays.
And Christians are zealous because they sincerely believe that God/Jesus Christ is real and will come back in the final judgement.
And because they are told to go out and convert PEACFULLY (not forced conversion, like with swords >.>) They try their utmost to bring people to see the truth they believe in.
Yes some can be pushing and be jerkish, but those people just really need to work on their social skills, it's not a universal thing. -

It's just the gay life style touches the very core of one of the most precious things we humans have.
SEX...is just more than repopulating. but that's another argument.
It's about the friendship of two people who want to live their lives together.
EDIT: and that friendship has been restricted TO a man and woman since Humanity came into being.

Actually prejudice is naturally racism isn't, racism was created so one race could enforce its believes and laws over the other race. Prejudice existed since the beginning, animals use it to pick mates, if they didn't then animals would fail to survive, the prejudice against homosexuals is a way for humans to know that in order for the human race to survive, reproduction must occur between male and female. -
Gay people will never be fully accepted by everyone. Ever.
As long as there are two genders, with 1 specifically only able to give birth, there will always be differing opinions on sexuality. Sure, you can say we live in a "civilized" world, but that doesn't mean much... since humans are humans. Prejudice, racism, you name it, it'll always be here.
You can try to argue your beliefs, but just don't expect to lead a peaceful life if you'll never tolerate others' decisions. People can disagree with those who are gay, fine... just act mature and tolerate it when they won't change their minds. The same goes for people defending those who are gay. If they don't want to change their mind, drop it.

the bullying issue will always be a problem. for gays and for anyone.
very little we can do about that unless we do reform to a Judeo-Christian worldview of everybody not being a jerk.
