gaming labtop? or upgrade my labtop?

NOTE: I don't know much about computer stuff

I'm basically i thinking of getting a new gaming laptop or upgrading my Dell inspiron

What i need from you is ideas on what laptop to get or what i could use to make my current laptop better.

I went to best buy just now and saw the Asus G73 and was thinking of getting it but its 1,199$ and don't know if should just go on payment plan to get it or try to upgrade my other laptop

i have 2,000$ from my grandma for x-mas and can spend it but i don't really want to spend it on this. Just going to pay for what ever i end up getting from my job in payments .

-LAPTOPS ONLY

-NO desktops for me atm because I don't have room for it

-LOOKING to run any game at with really good fps and runs good

tl;tr help me decide on upgrading my laptop or get a new gaming laptops suggest some

Upgrading a laptop would cost more than buying a new one so just go for the gaming laptop. I dont know much about laptop brands but I'd go either Alienware or ASUS

not worth upgrading. think you can only upgrade ram anyway.. sometimes not even that

i use laptop for my pc gaming, don't have a desktop. i only trust HP. you get a very nice sound card by altec lansing/beats. the best available sound on a laptop. The best designed laptops (IMO). and HP legendary quality/features/reliability/warrenty.

as for the specs, you should find a laptop with:
- intel icore 7 (1.6 ghz turbo boost to 2.8) (4 cpus) / AMD pheonom 2.0 ghz 4 cpu
-ram: 6-8GB
-video card: nvidea geforce 230m/ ati raedon HD 5650 (1GB dedicated)
-hard drive: 600GB-1TB

this will run you at around 1299-1499$ CAD. but think about the long term.

that being said, laptops aren't near as good as desktops for gaming. Even with the same specs... desktop will always get more fps.don't expect a new laptop to be able to play games on max settings with good fps.

Stay away from sony and alienware laptops. Very overpriced for the sub-par specs. you're basicly paying for advertisement/brand name.

im not sure yet but im going to keep going and looking and asking around about gaming labtops and see what one is best for me and isnt over priced and not good game performince.

im looking for in game performince more then anything really .

i own a gaming laptop myself. they perform very good in the upper price range, they tend to heat up alot. even though alot of ppl say it does not matter, i think it does.
i sometimes play when i am not home but my main is a desktop

dont know about first one. they don't sell azus around here and there's no link to its specs.

wouldn't get the toshiba. high price, average stats

3rd one looks like a very good deal. i'd get that in a flash. it's real gaming laptop. wish they sold those around here.
