  • What a lot of people forget to realize is that this game was not created solely for the purpose of competitive play, clearly by the amount of pay-to-play shiny things :D

Public game - Exactly what the name states. Public. If I want to use a Scar Light just for amusement? Who is anyone to tell me that I can't? Do you see a League game here? It's a public game and that's what it is for. It may be just me, but I do not let what others say affect me especially in a public game. IT'S FOR FUN! Learn to have some (referencing the ones you refer to that flame people for using certain weapons).

It seems that people blur the line between a public game and a competitive league match. For those of you that enjoy 100% competition all the time, GO DO IT! Set up a scrim with competitive rules and have at it. Leave the pub stars to their business and they will leave you to your business. Simple as that. This game is meant for both sides of the spectrum, learn to share a little will ya? ;)

from what i have seen, if the requirements get higher, people strive for success by trying harder.

  • I lol'd when you said career in this game. You can't have a career in a game.

This thread hasn't burst out into a flame war, troll war (not really), or just plain randomness, also talks about something worthy of attention.

so by comparison with other threads.

this thread is as intelligent as they can get.

go talk to team fnatic, sK gaming, and all of the other teams that have a career in a game then come back here.

what's been said a hundred times? you need to stop posting your opinions without any support on them. it would be nice if your thoughts had some foundation as to why you think that.

some people buy scar light over m4 because the choice is THEIRS.

    They're abusing SmileGate/Z8/G4Box/Neowiz/I-really-dont-give-a-crap-who's STUPIDITY/IGNORANCE.

Nerf the god damn SL, Tommy, Kriss, M12s, and we're all happy. Stop caring for your pockets and start caring about the community.

And people say "Pubs dont matter" because you're playing against complete failures, so anyone can get a decent score. Echo-8 Pubs matter, because you're playing against decent if not experienced players. They don't mean to offend. Everyone is at a different learning-step and what's good for them is going to be different then you.

people say pubs don't matter when determining skills. That's why they say it.

( it used to be op before the nerf though, and it seem evre1 forgot it got nerfed.)

It's been nerfed? I had no idea. You know what gun that really annoys me when people forget about its nerf? The Kriss. It used to be a BEAST. It's still good, but not nearly as OP'd as it used to be. And no one seems to notice that.

It's because there are only 6 decent+ teams in this game atm...that's about it.

^ That's the reason why the community's falling apart: a general elitist asshole mentality. That's usually the first thing a newbie is exposed to when they first join the forums: threads on which team's better, who's the best at this, that, and the other thing... et cetera. It's ridiculous. And I'm still a newb (and a noob, to boot) myself, so it's not hard for me to sympathize with other newbies.
  • Even Combat Arms Has A Better Community Then CF
  • Even Combat Arms Has A Better Community Then CF

its called elitism. it happens when you have a enough people who take the game too seriously. And all the WOGL advertisement just feeds it more. (no offense to the wogl players)

just ignore those people as if they dont know diddly, from squat. or ignore them alltogether. best way to deal with it.
  • Bad Community
But only ones who can fix it
is we, who are part of the community.

No one can't go against this corrupted world alone.
  • I can only participate in games if ihave good behavior and grades in class.A similar concept can be applied to woglif a person had 3 band, they wouldn be allowed to participate in matches for a given time
I recommend the m4 to new players due to it being easy, so you can learn the basics of controlling a gun
I suggested implementing something that would change it from wogl invite to applying to wogl with the correct requirements
    *something?u implemented what for wogl?

-wogl could use every persons behavior ; such as

    - How many bans or infractions they got
    - So we could use that as a tool to see which teams would be allowed to play in the league
    - This would also cut back on all of the forgeits going on
    - Only responsible teams should be allowed so they can be responsible to make it to the match
    - Im mad cause everybody competes for the prizes so many ppl joinin in I want money foo and I cant because I have to study and get good grades and uhm derp
    - They would try to be more responsible to be able to compete for the prizes
    - This is how it works I humanity. An eye for an eye?

Martin Luther King Jr.. later used this phrase in the context of racial violence: "The old law of an eye for an eye leaves the world blind.

    Also,

Leave the pub stars to their business and they will leave you to your business. Simple as that
  • I've been apart of this community for about a good solid year and a few months
I have seen many people point out the faults of this community but nothing has changed
a formers union has been created
    but nothing has changed
You have pointed out some problems
    but nothing will change
Polleous has gotten a mod position
and i have seen less of some known trolls
    yet overall nothing has changed
I know not to expect change over night
but not enough people want a change bad enough to make it happen
therefor until this happens noting will change
because you cannot get something from nothing

Worst. Idea. Ever. If WOGL held people responsible for their actions outside of WOGL, there would be a ton of problems.

    - People would pretend to be someone else to get them in trouble.

    - No one would use their real account to play WOGL

    - WOGL would suddenly be responsible for reviewing TONS of material and reports that they don't have the manpower for.

    - No one would play WOGL

It's the internet. People are jackasses. Deal with it.
  • This communtiy is really, really rude. I was very new in crossfire, and i made a little montage. I dont wnat to post the link here, because SOME OF YOU sweared that much, that i really liked to report them! Styxx for example.
  • Your right. I agree 100%.

I have alot of problems with echo 8 players because their so caught up with their own scores and gameplay that no one is respectful or encouraging to anyone else. If you do well your just a pubstar and your clan sucks (No matter what clan your in) They hardly ever have the balls to back up what they say. Its rather depressing that the most competitive of the channels is so player focused instead of team focused.

Like really where do you ever see a support player anymore? Everyone is just out to get frags for themselves instead of protecting the bomb or any number of team oriented things. I know some of you will say "its just a pub it dont matter" but really pubs are practice for scrims and if you dont practice like you play then why practice at all?

Neways just my personal rant on the topic. Flame if you want. I probably wont even check back on this thread.
  • Some people say; nerf the thompson/kriss/sl/m12s
    Others say; SPOP/STAR noob
    Both say these;noobs with thompson/kriss/sl/m12s and SPOP/STAR
People take the game tooo seriously
Flaming people because they use something not allowed in wogl or other leagues. I agree with ex_ample and polleus
It's their choice to play with these things and the game is not based in competitive playing
An amount of around 80% of people playing play pubs only. Also playing in echo8 means nothing! I remember it used to be just a meeting point for people who got low ping there, after a little time for clans and now it's a proof that someone plays "pro". The real challenge for me is playing in UK 1 OR 4 (for Europian players)or any other random server.Random servers r the most challenging as it's basically on ur own in all games.Noone cares for playing as a team.

P.S nerf thompson? It has low power but almost 30 bullets more than mp5
is this overpowered?nerf kriss? quick but not much power or ammo.nerf m12s? awesomely low power only first 3 bullets accurate for shots from REALLY far away it's useless (eagle eyes; watch tower-a site).nerf sl? it's not as powerful as it used to be.It is basically something between the ak-47 and the m4a1

Very true. People are much worst on the internet why? Because they can do things without consequence. What you would say on the internet is different from what you would say to an actual person face to face. Just because of the fact that you can "get away with anything" on the internet is the reason people are much much more ruder.

I've been kicked because I had a bad score in pubs before and I'm sure it's happened to other people too. I play CF for fun, so I'm a casual gamer, which most people are. I'm having fun even if I do have a negative KD, why do you care? Even if I am making your team lose, it's still no reason to kick me in a pub. Just because of one competitive player, it ruins the match for everyone else. You know who I'm talking about, the people in SnD who go "OMG noob", "Wow noob", and "how could you mess that up!?" when their teammate dies. The people who go "Scrub Light noob" and "m12 noob".

I've been yelled at for using an m12, I've been yelled at for using a scar light, I've been yelled at for using xm10134 or something like that (the shotgun), I've been yelled at for picking a gun off the ground. Every gun I think is easy to use turns out to be a "noob gun".
