One of them was sarcastic. If you can't tell which just by looking at them then sarcasm is impossible to interpret from generic sentences.

Of course you could emphasize like "omfg man you're so smart!!!!" but that seems beyond the point since that wasn't how the person expressed his/hers (alleged) sarcasm.
