Ridiculous low FPS
Ever since the recent patches I've been experiencing FPS ranging only from 1-10 while prior to this I would stay at a stable 60 per game. My graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 4650, which runs smoothly even on more graphically demanding games such as CODMW2, L4D2 or even TF2. Has anyone experienced similarly, or fixed a problem similar to this?

I uninstalled, deleted stuff, reinstalled- no difference.
It seems that when I play 1v1, it spikes a bit but works fine, but then against more than that, its laggy.
CPU based? My CPU should be sufficient, its an AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual core mobile ZM-82 at 2.2 gHz.
Has there been any major change in crossfire's engine recently? I used to be able to play at 60 fps even with something like mozilla on, and now its a dead 10. The game goes at about ~300k memory for me though.. strange. -
I had same problem. I have Win7 and for some reasons the svchost.exe process who was dealing with some services (Audio, DCHP, and another 4 services), it was starting to eat cpu very much. To solve the problem I've set that process to work only with the 2nd core (it's pathetic that Win7 can't solve this problem by itself).
To do that just open task manager, right click on the process/service who's eating cpu and select affinity. -
the engine of this game is very, very bad. it needs too much ressources. look at this graphics. why can i play hl2 with 80 fps on high graphics?? i play crossfire in low detail and a resolution of 800x600. there i get a maximum of 30 fps and in rooms with 16 players only 20....
i could only say: pls make a new game engine... ;(e and a new anti hack provider. the currently one is crap. u made a patch some days ago and now every one has this stupid reload hack... -

Go to task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) then go to processes and terminate unnecessary programs. That's what I do to not spike.
And you might want to download Game Booster. -
Thanks for your suggestions guys but I can't seem to play at a decent FPS no matter what I try. Ironically, my 7 year old computer can run this game at a 30 - 40fps, while before the recent patches, could hardly manage 20. Im going to try some other solutions in the meantime by maybe comparing the CPU/RAM usage of both computers.
