Seriously Z8, this whole "Reporting Hackers" thing is a joke.

As in the early days I´ve run into a dozen hackers again.

And my friends, too. Keep in mind, we, the regular CF-Player, not your 4000-Post Uber-Pro-Forumer, doesn´t know much about computers etc. Your regular CF-Guy doesn´t even know how to report a hacker and if he does he´s often too lazy. I mean upload a file to MegaUpload, take Screenshots, write down the name, a description...? Gotta be kidding me...There has to be a WAY easier way. The only thing it should take you to report one of those F*** ?&%$$
should be pressing like one button and maybe writing something. Sure, we should show some support, but if we pay bucks and play your game, YOU should keep it clean, not we.

PS: I´m not hating on Z8, I thinks its AMAZING that they nerf ZP weapons and that you can EASILY earn GP now. It´s just this one thing that busts my b*lls.

  • The thing is, if someone doesn't know how to report, theres five more in the room who can if they can be bothered.

We of course want people to report cheaters - but its absolutely not a must, and the game is maintaining itself pretty well with the automatic ban system.

The reporting system can't really be made much easier, simply save the replay and submit some generic info.

Another Problem is, that speaks against my theory, if it was extremly easy to report hackers, Z8 would get dozens of false alarms by some noob that can´t aim.
  • There are enough noobs sending in false reports of legit players. The last thing we need it making it easier to report players. It's fine as it is.

If reporting player the way it is now is too much for the noobs then chances are that they can't even tell who the real hackers are either.

The real issue is: Are the real hackers who get reported banned? Or is it only the pros who get kicked and reported for owning and reported by a million noobs who get banned? I've seen players post here saying that they got banned simply because of the number of reports and had to send in a support ticket to get unbanned.

So why are there so many hackers still running in game ?

lol are they not able to implement the same ban for people who kick for the pleasure of kicking or for noob kicks .That would be GREAT

People who claim to be unjustly banned, as it turns out, are usually running some kind of memory interference, granted not necessarily for Crossfire, but its still something we might detect on.
And those who don't, just straight up cheat.

'accidental' bans are highly unusual and if confirmed as a mistake, quickly revoked.

    Because accounts are easily remade.
  • Ever since CrossFire came out of beta (this does include Suba, as they had the same outpoint of reporting hackers) they have improved massivley to keep the hacker population at ease, unless a new "public" one comes out.

On the other hand, they could add an easier way such as add a REPORT button in game and sends to a database, including the current stream of the replay. If you dont want to report a hacker, then you obviously don't care enough.
  • lol are they not able to implement the same ban for people who kick for the pleasure of kicking or for noob kicks .That would be GREAT

and would actually take even more time to ban the hackers as usual AND the unskilled players for doing "fake" reports.good idea, but it would raise the problem high even more.

You guys (Z8) should make an "email confirmation" that way people would have to have the email in order to register for the game. That would make the "making new accounts easily" thing go out the window.

    I have ~100 email addresses.

That would simply extend the time it took to create a new account from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.

What they should do is limit the number of accounts that can be made from a certain IP.

IP addresses can be changed, but a 12 year old BR who can't do basic math or say anything but aff isn't going to know how to do it.

    Until some1 makes a guide :D
  • Why do you care if the reported guy is banned or not? Report him and then leave him alone.

BR's can't read dude. God everybody knows that. >.>

But they know how to create an account :( ?! :P

Did you miss what I said or something? You limit the number of accounts per IP. Like 3 or something. Once you hit the limit. Error, can't create any more accounts. Of course, they could just go to their neighbors house and make an account, and what not. But I really don't think theyre smart enough to do that.

I think Z8 is aware of headsets...See were I´m going?
  • Be glad you have a report system, even though a majority abuse it
  • No ZP weapons have been nerfed, ever. GP is harder to get, you start with 10k less than before. and you dont need screenshots.
  • I like our current system...There are always going to be people who ruin a game somehow...

And the automatic banning system does work pretty well.

    Well...I remember this clearly.

The first 4-5 shots of the M4-C used to be close together now its 2-3. With the scope 7-8 and now its 4-5. I remember testing this a couple of dozen times.

Anyways, thats not the point. What they should do with hackers is BAN THE ACCOUNTS FOREVER. They'll remake another account, but at least you wasted their time, life, and money if they used any. That will teach them a lesson.

    I totally agree with :)face.

My opinion: Any offense must result in a permanent ban of the account and public humiliation of the player.
  • Yes, there is way to many hackers in this gamer. Any free to play game there is thats why they are free to play.
