People and Computers...
Im pretty much getting tired of all the idiots that think there computer is "good". First off I think if you buy a prebuilt pc your a moron for wasting your money, second I think every1 should have to atleast take a basic PC training course,
i have seen way to many people on MIBBIT coming in for support on the irc channel because they think there prebuild dell with integrated graphics, 128mb of ram. 30gb hard drive and a p3 is awesome.
I am also amazed that some people even think they know all about pc's when in fact they know little to nothing about how to even build one. Also people who think wireless and laptops are meant for gaming. No they are not, There are some that ARE meant for gaming but those usually cost upwards of $1,500 or more.
Alienware, This company is a complete ripoff, Go look up or build an alienware on their site and then compare the price to newegg, You are getting ripped off. Hell I built a $200 tower for somebody recenty, This had 1gb of ram, a intel core celeron, msi mobo, 80gb hard drive, a good case with actual cooling, ect ect. This wasnt even a gaming machine
Building a gaming computer. Seriously This is easy to do, its not hard at all, i built my first one when i was 14 with NO HELP and no knowledge at all, its called RTFM. I built my gaming machine for around..3 grand totally all the upgrades i did over 3 years. so far my specs have come out to
Intel I7 920 OC'ed @ 3.2ghz, 6gb G****ill ddr3 1600 ram, 2x 320gb 7200 rpm hdd, 1TB WD black Edition Drive @ 7200rpm, 32GB SSD drive, ATI 5870, (getting a Nvidia 460 as a physx/tessellation card.) EVGA X58 3x SLI board, Haf 932 Case, G35 headset, Logitech G500 mouse, 22inch monitor, logitech G15.
point of this thread, Building a computer is cheaper and easier than people think. People need to learn how to properly build a computer before thinking that there machine is a pos dell p3 with 128mb of ram and a intel integrated graphics.

rudolph told me to
Also, my homebuilt rig's specs:
AMD Phenom II x6@2.8ghz
8GB DDR3 high quality g****ill ram
Sapphire Radeon 5870
Cooler Master CM690 case with 2 additional fans installed
Asus DVD drive/burner
Asus 23" monitor
950w Corsair PSU
2x 160GB WD Caviar Blue running in RAID 0
1x 1TB WD Caviar Black
Windows 7 Pro
Total cost building it myself: $1700
Total cost from alienware: $3500 -
Building a rig is obviously cheaper, some people however have the money, could care less about paying an extra 500$ for a brand name and do not have the time/knowledge to build there own.
People over the internet obviously know everything, it's a well known fact. -

Point on. I like gaming, I like doing so on my laptop connected to my wireless router. While I have sufficient knowledge to build a PC, I do not have the time to do so, and I will be buying a new laptop, to use for gaming, and spending the extra money cuz it's got some brand name parts in it.
