Simple ways to make difficult to hack / glitch
in Suggestions
First of all, I know there are many threads about this, but this is not one to complain about hacking, but to suggest ways to fix this issue.
Here is a list of simple things I thought would difficult hacking:
Problem:
First of all, clearly deleting an game account does not solve the problem, since its a free game hackers will just create a new one.
Solution:
The game could use unique ID to identify the user hardware ( HD serial number, for example ). This way you can ban that PC, solving the "create a new account" problem and avoiding the ban of innocent players ( as would happen in IP ban ). Also this is harder to fake then MAC address for example.
Problem:
You're the host of a room in the game and you see a hacker but vote kick does not kick him. When the round is over he gets out of the room before you have the chance to kik ( so he can enter this room later ).
Solution:
To the room host only, add a menu item on the "Esc key" menu to kick the player when the round is over. ( Add this to mutation mode too )
Problem:
Glitches: You see people trying to get into boxes and stuff all the time ( but only when the hacks are not working xD ).
Solution:
Theres a quick and dirty way to "fix" this: create a new type of floor / wall ( texture actually ) that kills you as soon as you touch it and apply it to the inner side of walls and boxes....
I'm a software developer too, so I know I'm being realistic here.
This are all simple to add to the game ( Not sure about the last one, but the others are trivial ).

Love it. :P One thing though, if they do a complete wipe of their computer wouldn't that ruin the banning process? -

It's called a damage zone; it looks like a Rectangular entity that can be made any shape and size on some developing programs.
Price wise this is all to my knowledge free if there was someone who knew how to do all of this. -

Most of glitchs, could be solved if u contact and admin and tell em whats the mean problem... they later fix the map... but the thing is, they must be full of work... and they r just a few to solve big big problems -

In theory you can't change that by software...so the only way would be buying a new HD ( in my example )...
But that's theory...in practice it's possible to make a software that intercepts system calls, so when the game asks windows for the HD serial, this program would intercept that call and answer anything you want to the game instead of the real serial...but thats not trivial to do...Britannia_x wrote: »Sounds simple but is it expensive?
Shouldn't...All those would be minor changes to the game

Hackers, glitchers, kicking mathematics
I agree with these solutions (the glitch solution is very good, but the hacking thing may be a little too handy to do), I think it's time to do more about the hacker/glitcher situation in CrossFire, since it's way too annoying.
About the kicking thing, I think Z8Games could implement something from the ADM mods from Counter-Strike: simply give the Room Host the ability to kick the hacker/glitcher. Some may argue that Room Hosts can go crazy with this and kick whoever they want, but that's just a risk we gotta take, right?
One thing I'm completely against: the kicking mathematics. I haven't had the time to analyze it and discover its formula yet, but I know that getting, like, 1 or 2 more "agree" votes does not kick the hacker/glitcher, and also, who does not vote, immediately adds up to "disagree" (don't remember the in-game name for this). I am against that. Maybe who didn't vote was just busy killing/getting killed. It should not add up to "disagree". It should simply be ignore. Do we count the people who didn't vote for president? I don't think so.
The right thing to do, I think, is to ignore who doesn't vote, and kick if it gets more "agrees"
Here what often happens:
Room with 16 players
Kicking vote stage one: Agree = 1; Disagree = 1
Kicking vote stage two: Agree = 8; Disagree = 3
Kicking vote stage three: Agree = 9; Disagree = 7 (four people did not vote!!!)
Kicking results: n00b does not get kicked!
Seriously, why???
Please, comments on this??? -

As well as the jumping dog. Too much hakers.
We need a solution for that.
You got a sniper/pistols. If you got killed, you're the noob. Also dont over exaggerate with the hackers seriously. There's not many of them and ITS A FREE TO PLAY GAME. -
like you already said, they would go crazy and kick everyone who killed em/their friends/didn't want "hacking".xDeadAlleyx wrote: »I agree with these solutions (the glitch solution is very good, but the hacking thing may be a little too handy to do), I think it's time to do more about the hacker/glitcher situation in CrossFire, since it's way too annoying.

lol'd @ kick math -
lolsmileyface you must not be able to count. there are tons of hackers in the game all the time u can hardly ever get a game without several questionable players. every single egypt match is hacked and exploited. ive been shot thru the wall and while i was invincable while in egypt. how can u possible pretend that their isnt many hackers. u are a big fat liar smiley an everyone knows it. ive seen a few of your posts putting off the hacker issue. i hope sumone looks over your games with their finger on the ban button.L0LSmilyFace wrote: »You got a sniper/pistols.
