I have to ask this, what's a mac address? Is it an anagram, or a shortened form of something?
Supposedly a part of your IP that cant be changed no matter what. People also say its illegal to MAC ban in certain places. Its illegal to hack here so I dont see why not do it. -
Mac ban...i like it.
except if some one who got perm banned but didn't actually hack; (maybe some virus or someone hacked his/her account) then isn't it going to be really unfair?
i think we should only do mac banning until we have ABSOLUTE PROOF that the GAMER of THAT ACCOUNT was really hacking.
until then...i think we are at a dilemma. -

THEN GO FOR IT! I don't see what's wrong with it, in casinos, you card count in one casino (which isn't illegal btw XD) you get banned EVERYWHERE.
^also agree with post above it, after 2nd offense, and WITHOUT displaying a video of you NOT hacking, and playing like you're used to, and WITH concrete evidence (such as wall hacking doesn't really count for this) then BANNED!
And also, i'm talking about speed and automatic AWM. not RARW PRO AIMBOT NO 360 BUT STILL HACK AND WALLHACK. -
Well, I'd point out that an MSCE might realize that a MAC address is only going to apply to a specific network device. I might also say that if my network interface is banned, I could just go out and get another one and my MAC address problem is solved.
But I won't point out the obvious things to an MSCE of such stature. I think that would be rude and condescending. -

In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to most network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer for identification.
it is static, and cannot be changed. But, it CAN be spoofed if the person has good knowedge of networking. (not very likely with most of the people here.)
an example of a MAC address is:
08:00:69:02:01:FC
Unlike IPs which use the decimal system, MAC addresses use the Hexidecimal system.
MAC adresses have nothing to do with your IP address. (they are seperate)
Also MAC adresses can be changed by simply buying a new networking card.
when you MAC ban someone you actually enter there system and collect hardware information. this is why MAC bans are illegal in some countries.
i hope that answers all your MAC address questions
OT: MAC bans would be more efficent then ip, having to buy a new network card is worse then spending 30 seconds to reset your ip.
IMO the countries where this game was released for, MAC bans are not illegal, so if someone complains about it being illegal if it happens to them, well they werent supposed to be in this game to begin with. >_>
