Terms used Incorrectly
Gringo =/= United Statian's
The real story of the term Gringo has been lost in the ages but the meaning of this term derived from a slight misunderstanding.
The term gringo was created in the Mex-Amer war, when the United Statian's invaded(marched into) Mexico, the Mexican people called out ~"Green go" Home~ since the United Statian's army dressed in green. It soon became a slang term in Latin America to speak to United Statian's as 'gringos'. Almost no country but Mexico and a few Central American countries use this term correctly (the correct way to use this term would be when speaking of a foreigner of any country). In United States this term is depicted as racist because of the many lowly educated 'Latinos' who came & come to United States use this term incorrectly.
American =/= People born in the United States
This term has been used incorrectly and unfairly since the making of the United States of America.
United Statian is a polemical term used to describe people from the United States of America. For historic and cultural reasons, people from the States refer to themselves as "Americans", whereas in all of Latin America, the word "américano" refers to anyone from the Americas. Therefore Latin Americans refer to people from the States as "estadounidenses" (United Statians) rather than "americanos".Many Latin Americans would like to change the English term "American" to "United Statian" and the word "American" to refer of all people from the Americas (North, South and Central).

Go.ok?
A derragatory term used against Korean and Vietnamese individuals. The term came about when American troops participating in the Korean war, heard the term "Miguk" which is the Korean word for the United States of America. The term is pronounced similarly to "Me Go.ok". The Americans thought the Koreans were calling themselves Go.oks and the name stuck. The name also refers to Vietnamese individuals as American GI's really had no idea what the difference between any Asians were.
The grocery store, the dry cleaners, and the liquor shop are all owned by those damn Go.oks.
(IM NOT SURE IF THATS WAT U MENT) -

Nerds?
A slang term used to insult people/students who excelled in academics and were not involved in any sports, Nerds is also often used to describe people who do activities which the majority dislikes/looks down on/laughs at/ thinks is geeky. -

Looks like its just however they decided to translate it, but changing the way that 70% (or more) of the world's way of describing someone from the United States is pretty unlikely. -

yup, its probably not gonna change, but u nvr kno, Do'oH! is on websters dictionary already, if enough ppl learn another way of calling a group of ppl and it stik, it might just changeLooks like its just however they decided to translate it, but changing the way that 70% (or more) of the world's way of describing someone from the United States is pretty unlikely.

We should call British people United Kingdonians because it's a way of further segregating and complicating political correctness. There is only one group of people that changes what they want to be called every three years, stop trying to change other people with you, I sware.

I never asked any of you for your opinion, this thread is suppose to target the mature audience with a tad bit of intelligence, so if you dont care just dont post, problem solved.Who cares?
Britain/United Kingdom is part of Europe, I dont see them calling themselves 'Europeans' as only to define themselves, no one else uses the term 'British'. If you think politics is messed up if you change what a group of people are called then imagine what that did to the other governments when United Statians started referring themselves as 'Americans' as to only define themselves.ShowNoHope wrote: »We should call British people United Kingdonians because it's a way of further segregating and complicating political correctness. Before any of you place an idea in here please make sure its not for trolling and that your idea is backed up by evidence, no one will learn if all you do is educate a body of people with incorrect information. -
Can we focus more on terms that may relate to CF as a game, and not of racial issues? I remember when I first came to this game, I didnt know what a QQ was, or a clutch was, or a lightscrub was for that matter.
Please focus on helping the current CF public of the gaming terminology that will be used so that they themselves dont have to look dumb when asking for the meaning, as well as to help people like me understand possible new terminology.
As of your already discussed terms, people will never cease to be ignorant and many are close minded to opposing viewpoints. I understand that you want to teach others of their misinterpretation and misuse of the word, but the reality is, they may as well use it in the derogotary context if that is indeed the message they want to send. -

No problem, I suprise people. Also some help on how to make posts on forums. I have alot to say for the public and for myself as well, but Im kind of tired addressing my viewpoint under someone elses. The reality is that the one who posts the thread is usually the one that gets the most publicity which in turn equals more say to CF which is more influence.
