However they are both good snipers, its whatever the individual prefers.

The AWP [known in CF as the AWM] is much better known. You will succeed with it if you're a decent sniper. It's one hit everywhere, but the waist down. As long as you can aim, and have a decent reaction time, you can be a pretty good pubstar.

The DSR is fairly new to the game, and not many players use it as a full time weapon. I used to use it a while back when it was released, but I sold it as it's not exactly the best sniper. It's not as good long ranged, and, for quick switchers like me, not efficient.

If you like the PSG, get the DSR. If you enjoy something else, such as the M700 or the L9 in Black Ops, get the AWP.

There is no "superior" gun. It's all opinionated. For example, I hate the AK, but others will say it's the best gun they've ever played with.
