I've searched and researched for the same information you are seeking, there are lots of just opinion threads to be sure, but to find one with real damage numbers is what you want I think. Even then I think distance makes a difference as well, but I'm not 100% sure. As a side note, it's not easy to find even with the search function imo.

I went through them in the guides section and made a spreadsheet but the info is 5~6 months old and it appears that since then some of the damage rates have changed. There have been some recent posts that seem to have higher damage numbers (at least for the chest), so I don't know how accurate the databases are anymore. It would be nice if someone would do an update.
