will a mouse work on a laptop

if i buy a mouse will it work without having to do anything special to my laptop? id like to try this game at the coffee house on their wifi connection.

It should work fine, I'd recommend turning off the track pad though :P

what i do is simple
plug in the usb thing for the mouse go to control panel and turn it on under mouse

You'll need a pad, also.

Oh, and when you're using the mouse, if it's optical, then try to leave at least 6 inches between the laptop, and the mouse. It can sometimes cause slightly interference.

well my pet mouse only liked desktops it ran to the fridge when i took out the laptop

haha you would think so, im pretty technology challenged when it comes to what electronics work with other things, i point and click if something goes wrong thats it haha. but i think i scored just now digging in the junk draw and found one of those optic wireless ones, so that other tip will help me too. cant wait to start shooting you guys for helping me haha

Using a mouse is SO much easier than a touch pad, believe me

Now you just have to take the time to figure out your perfect sensitivity settings.

Oh and if possible with firmware, try to lower the polling rate of your mouse to at least below 250htz.

hot dog! this wireless thing i found works! haha, man this is gonnd be pretty sweet , got just about everything i need to really get started now, pretty soon i will be yelling about brazilians in a coffee shop and people lookin at me werid. im going to the mouse options to check out the sensitivity now, thanks for tipping me to that too

If you get a mouse with a wire it would most likely not require you install any extra software.

When you plug your new mouse in go to control panel or press Fn and f1 that should disable your scrolling pad.

It might not be fn and f1 on your laptop but it is on many others I have had.
