1v1'ing in a team based game is so full of epic fail. 1v1ing to prove who is a "better" player should be kept to games meant and designed for 1v1'ing, like Quake Live, Chess (especially so), and Unreal Tournament 2004 and Street Fighter.

1v1ing in a slow team based FPS is nothing more than who can camp the best, or who can pounce on someone's footstep/misstep better, or who gets bored first. What matters in CF is how good of a team player the player is.

I've never seen a 1v1 prize money tournament for a team based shooter. So beating someone in 1v1 Crossfire is nothing except big ego little pink mars. I HAVE seen big money tournaments for street fighter 4, Quake Live, Chess (participated and won a few) and Unreal Tournament, however (though even bragging about being professional in those games means nothing except "cool story bro."
