Ive done it before, it was a mario themed game... I changed the music, the startup, kill marks, gun colors, radio messages, and many more (like the paint)... i had a lot of time. i got rid of it because of the new badges. its nothing special, all you need is a software that can edit tga's and the other files found in Crossfire's foldier...
For the TGA's, I used a program called Gimp2.0
For the .BGM's and i think .wav's (if any) i used something called Audiciaty 3.1 Beta. -

there are many other programs out there, but these are the ones i used... -
ok, first you need WinRar, if you dont have it... (used to get the files out)
now you need to find your crossfire folder you saved the game too... (if lost let me know)
Now go to the rez foldier then the UI foldier, finally go to the foldier named "Mark"
what you do is Drag your extracted files from your .rar file, to that folder...
it will then say "File already Exists, want to replace" go to Yes to all, YOU ARE DONE
