List of Recording Programs

So, while XTrap doesn't support Fraps, don't think you can stop recording videos for the contest. Here are some alternatives to Fraps.
I haven't test some of them yet, so you can try for yourself. Some people say they work, some people say they don't. Also some are Trial, some are free. I will point it out.

We realize X-Trap is blocking FRAPS right now. This is unintended and has been submitted. While we wait, and if you still want to participate in the video contests then try these programs.
If we don't get enough videos we will extend the time for the contest. -

Oh, and playclaw is the best one IMO, especially when you don't like your FPS dropping hard. -
Xfire is pretty decent, but when u slow down, they don't process teh frames properly, so certain frames are blurry unlike Fraps, when you slow down fraps a lot, the video's flow is choppy, when you slow down Xfire a lot, it blurs on certain frames.
And Camstudio doesn't recognize colours changes too well. So if there is a gradual change in a colour (the sun in a map), it would be split into different sections of different colours.
Just throwing this information out there. -
Yeah most of them are crap. But they are better than nothing.
yeah, Most of them are crap... but he's right it's better than nothing. i just hope we can focus on getting Xtrap to recognize Fraps so we can submit smooth, unchoppy, videos. -

in response to shadowkill, frames are never randomly blurry for me with xfire [unless I add a blur effect to them], but ofc, they are choppy in slowmo since low frame count doesn't produce much to connect smoothly when displayed slowly. -
I know how to get around this.
I can still run FRAPS. All i do is open cf login and go in lobby. then find the installation folder of FRAPS and run fraps from there you shouldnt get a error it works fine for me

You can't change your forum name more than 1 time each month. -

The REALLY messed up part about this is that it USED to work...
I actually had got some gameplay with it before, but I can't access the files on my HDD because I don't have a computer to connect it to.....yet (soon, but not now...)
What REEEALY makes me mad is that it was perfectly fine until about 7-8 months ago...they even blacklisted xfires ingame recorder...listed them as "hacking tools", which is complete BS.
