Message icon appears, but there are no messages

I submitted a support ticket last week sometime, and today I was informed of a response by the blinking orange message button next to the logout button at the top of the screen. However, after clicking on said message button, I am taken to my support submission and in the status area it says replied, but there is no response.

What is the problem here?
