In my opnion it would be pretty cool to have animated avatars as long as they stay in the size limit.

When we allow more access to forum features, which is in the works (no eta) we will likely remove all animated pictures from the forums.

It's not the intention of people coming to these forums and getting seizures from all the animations on pictures.

We've kindly asked people with ones we feel that have crossed this line in the past, and we will be removing animated pictures from the boards in the future. It's just not necessary.
