Having problems loading CrossFire!

I am currently running on Windows Vista, and meet the game requirements.

When I load CrossFire, it goes through autoupdater, gameguard, etc...

Then when it loads, it usually comes with a box then on top of that box says "CrossFire (unresponsive)".

Then it changes my screen to 800 by 600, then 30 seconds later, the music cuts in, and after a few seconds after that, a section of the screen comes in (as seen in the image). I am having problems getting this to work. I try moving the window around, then it freezes and crashed without an error, then it restores it back to my original window size.. help please?
