Weird lines on screen and no text chat in-game?

So, I've been playing CF for a few days now, and whenever I try and play a match, in-game I can't see any sort of killfeed or in-match text chat what-so-ever. Instead of where the killfeed should be, there's yellow/blue lines that go across the top of the screen instead of the killfeed. Has anyone had this problem, and how can I fix it?
