Help with Ventrilo

When i downloaded ventrilo winxp, my default setup was on p-t-t, but on homepage on ventrilo says the default is at voice activation but mine was not, did any1 else get this?
and what should i select to do voice activation and what is better for non lag? what is the best setting for less lag? is default ok? and does ven lag more than xfire?
Plz answer all questions.

EDIT: i just wanted to know if every1's default settings was at push-to-talk, anyone?

    I can give you a screeny of my vent settings if you want...

    Xfire could technically "lag" you but it is so small it is irrelevant.
    And your settings can't make you lag less.
    Seeing as how lag is based on your isp and your distance between the server.

    Ummmm... if i can set my voice activation up and not have it do a perma broadcast then any one can. I have 2 comp boxes with a total of 10 fans running right in front of me, and a very low speaking voice. i spent about 1 min fooling with sensitivity and got it where it picks up my speaking voice but it is not activated by my ambient noise.

    Voice activation is epiclly better during a game, no need to be bothered with hitting a button. i am honestly amazed when i hear about most people using push to talk instead.

    and yes my default was on P.t.t.

    tip: one thing i noticed was that the lower the sensitivity number the more sensitive... which was counter intuitive. i run mine on about 10 and it works great for me, it also depends on your mic so my settings might be garbage for others.
