my overall ping has increased aswell but it's been for a while. it used to be down there in the 60's and 70's but it's always in the 100's now for no noticable reason. i've just come to live with it to be quite honest. if it gets too bad i'll just have to find another game. all there is to it

Punctuation has nothing to do with grammar, go back to school. It's probably got nothing to do with cables. In the WC server, all it takes for Aussies and NZ people is a simple reboot of the modem and that can either, 1 increase ping, 2 decrease ping. It depends. He's modem probably cut in and out and he lost his ping.
Restart your modem a few times, see if you get your ping back. It's got nothing to do with the server. -
