The Dragunov
For two years I've been told the Dragunov doesn't have the ability to kill... in other words I was told that the Dragunov sucks.
Recently I got a Dragunov [BM] 7 days... I've tested it out in Prison TDM (Snipers Only Match), It wasn't quite bad at all...
I consider this sniper 3rd place...
1st place - DSR-1 & special AWMs (e.g. AWM Camo, AWM Rd Drag.)
2nd place - AWM (normal)
I personally find this sniper better than PSG1 and MSG90 (although it's not IRL, PSG1 is more accurate than it is in CF).
The reason why I find it better than PSG1 and MSG90 is because:
Unlike the AWM, when you shoot, It's not bolt action therefore you don't have to pull the bolt to reload and waste time. It is: shoot a round, your prespective goes out of the scope for 3/4 of a second (this allows you to look around to see whos around you), and get back into scope and shoot... It's like the AWM, but lighter weight, more efficient firing, but has the power of the PSG1. Since it shoots more efficient than the awm and it's not semi automatic, therefore unlike the PSG1, this enables you to rapid fire accurately.
The reload on the Dragunov is really fast for a sniper... It's a two seconds reload.
Although this gun is not as powerful as the AWM... this gun is really efficient IMO.

Yh I was in a TD Ship today and someone had the Draggy, and someone had the AWM Camo, I picked up the draggy after the both of them died lol. I love it -
Dragonuv
IMO, the drag is slightly better than the psg and msg,BUT it definetly does'nt have the Public match S&D value that the AWM has. What I mean by this is that in a pub the objecctive(I hope) is to get as many kills,defuses,plants,etc...as you can in order to earn experience. The dragonuv often misses that one hit kill and usually when ppl are shoot for 98 hp they hide/run. Which means you'll probablly be ks'ed. For a clan match the drag seems to have more usage in theory because the objective is to win. If you hit someone for 98, you have basically taken them out because your teamates will likely finish him off. If I had to rate the Dragonuv in terms of snipers i would say 7.8/10 -
The Draggy is awesome. (Not biased here okay. >..>;; ) Its rate of fire is quite decent, better than most snipers, added with its power. Granting about a 60-70% chance of killing in one shot. Most find it extremely underrated, but its speed makes up for its downsides, which is really only its power. A simply quick pistol or knife shot will take care of that, heck, even an M9 finishes off most who take a draggy shot. (And boy, do they rage when that happens. lol)
Competitive wise, its not really enough to go all out in for serious gameplay however. It can't really match up to a truly skilled DSR or AWM user sadly, just like the other snipers would fall to such.
Nevertheless, its an underrated and underused gun. And thats why I love it, and when I use it to kill. -

The draggy is very disappointing at times sometimes when I snipe, I aim at their arm and it misses slightly to the right. Also sometimes when I hit the enemy dead in the chest it does from the range of 95-99, which gets very annoying. I usually call the draggy a short range version of the AWM. -

Well I have used dragonow few times and I don't like it
I don't realy know why but I simply don't like it so I bought AWM and DSR-1
best decision for me hehe
If you're a cool calm and collected sniper, the Dragunov's for you, but if you sometimes panic at the sight of an AK'er charging at you, then the AWM's the gun you need

i panic when i see the GSG9 dood, they're scary as hell, also, one day i screamed tanker while i saw him LOL (L4D joke =x)
well, i'd like to use the draggy in all maps, but my ping in the greek letter servers only let me use the awm =[ (if i try to use the other snipers the hit won't register, since it suckz) -

xD ironically, the GSG9 does tank alot of rifle bullets

hit the head neck or chest on someonre not wearing armour.
Oh btw... Did you know that the neck is the most damage resistant part of the body in CF? I swear it takes 6 shots for an M4 to kill someone in the arms/legs... and 8 shots to kill someone to the neck... I've tested this at close range with the M4. -

I can even jump into the enemy's sneak attack hide out in Ship... you know... you go on to those metal boxes and jump into the enemy sneak attack place. I can do that when holding M700 0_0 -

All the semi-autos are awful due to 1 fact, 1 you mentioned in your post. That you can't look around for the chambering animation. Why? Tunnel Vision, chances are in a pub your team sucks. You need to be aware of your surroundings, never trust in your team, in a pub unless you are playing with friends or clan members. You will get shot from the side or in the ass if your not aware of your surroundings and where your team dies etc.
