SPOP and STAR

I dont understand why they are considered "noob" characters
accoring to [GM]Saidin
the hitbox is the same size. Yeah, guys buy them, it's their choice.

But I don't see how that makes them a noob.

  • Me neither... I've never found them tougher to kill. I think people just like to cry sometimes....
  • they look slimmer so people dont tend to aim the same as they would against a S.A.S. even though they have the same hitboxes

well, then they jsut have to get it rhough their head that they dont have to shoot dead center of their body
  • Personally I have already answered this.

Yeah the hitboxes are the same, all right. But the colors of those characters and the slimness of them (even the hitboxes being the same) end being a psychologic advantage.

I tend to aim for the dead center of their heads and it works for me....

well, it never seems to dungoof me

but yes, some people dont kno the hitbox is the same, so they might think that they have to be aiming correctly
  • I think the core issue is: You're a guy, why are you paying to dress as a skanky girl?
  • brb practicing aiming not on the character itself, but on the space around it, thus learning to aim on the outside of male characters.

And the answer = The player is a gay.

maybe he enjoys to dress up in female clothing?
or maybe he thinks it will make him look sexy

Maybe it's the only way they'll get inside a woman...
  • Maybe it's the only way they'll get inside a woman...

    Haha that was kinda clever.
  • spop =

    better hiding/camping
    hard to see far away
    much safer peeking
takes longer to see them come around corners = less time for u to react

playing tdm all day you may not notice this. but it is just harder to hit spops on bigger snd maps.

try playing sniper only using a spop then try playing using a gsg9. see how many more shots you magicly get hit by
  • Ok I'll let you guys in on why people think of people who use SPOP or STAR...

First of all in a way the Spop and Star are harder to hit because of the slightly better speed of walking then the Sas, Omoh, or Swat has which makes it unfair when they're peeking a corner and you either try to snipe them in the body or rifle them in the head. Another reason why people don't like when people use Spop or Star is because people just make the situation worse by using guns such as a : Kriss , Thompson, m12s , or basically any "noob cannon." It's true how it just makes someone look noobish when they run around spraying the shizz out of a gun when spraying isn't what the game is only about..

Another reason why people feel the need to cuss someone out when they use Spop or Star in a scrim or pug is because... First of all, there are rules and regulations to some scrims, if you go to echo 8 for a 5v5 scrim and you use any of the 2 chars in a Search & Destroy match, you will get raged at because think of Echo 8 as a "championship or league based set of matchs" server / channel. Before every match if a clan / team wants to use a certain set of rules such as: Wogl s1 or s2 rules which basically means no crate guns or golden weaps and especially no chars besides SWAT, SAS, OMOH, or GSG9. If you don't want to play by the rules, don't even bother to play because there are people in the CF Community who take this game seriously instead of just being a game. The game has become more and more of a championship / league game over the past and more and more people are wanting to become a part of it by learning the rules that were set and playing in a Wogl and/or Pug Draft every Friday / Saturday. ( Wogl Draft every Friday on Wogl Vent , Pug Draft every Saturday on Pug Vent [Either Life's or Snugglez' doesn't matter]) If you guys want the info on anything considering pug or draft you can p.m. me because I run the pug draft on Life's Vent.

What I hope you guys understand is that there are going to be people who despise people who use Spop or Star because it's thought of for being a noob char, so just go to a charlie or delta server match because not many people tend to care about those chars in those servers. I hope you guys understand a little from where us league players come from and why we play the way we do.

Again if any of you have any questions about Wogl / Pug draft information just p.m. on the forums and I'll get back to you guys.
  • I play spop and star because all the other character were freebie given, I wanted a character that stand out, be different but now, I'm back to playing my swat because I see too many spop and star running around. I'm now back to waiting for a new character. Maybe Delta when he comes out. I want an asian dude because I'm asian. No racial. xD

I have never honestly noticed a difference... but hey, maybe it's me.

PS: Anything can be a psychological advantage; if you go into a fight thinking you're gunna lose, chances are you'll be too pre-occupied with the thought of it to "focus" on the task at hand. That and every time you miss you'll automatically blame it on this "handicap" you thought yourself into.

EDIT: Btw... they DON'T HAVE A SPEED BONUS = =... Don't know where people get these silly thoughts...

    not true
  • Prodiggyy wrote: »

Actually it isn't. Several people have tested it and proved it wrong.
  • Actually it does. Have a Swat and a Spop run right next to eachother with a knife and see who runs faster
  • Its not true. All characters run at the same speed.

The SPOP model has smaller legs so it might LOOK like she's going faster, but you're wrong bud.

    Nice try though

Umm that's exactly how people tested it (the only way really). And they run the same.

no that was just a romour when the spop first came out
