for more ammo and bullet damage go for MP5
for faster ROF and less ammo go for MP7 (in the description for MP7, it says the ability to penetrate bullet proof amour and helmets. what lies !)

Both mp5 and mp7 are good only from medium to close ranges except that mp7 runs out of bullets really quick just like the m12. I personally like the mp7 cuz of the sound it makes when you spray and pray.

I personally would take an Mp7 over any mp5 (cept halloween ) anyday, I absolutely love the spray pattern, fast ROF, decent damage if you hit with all the shots, and the 40 ammo that makes up for the fast ROF and lowish damage.
