Why I am no longer playing CF on a regular basis

Crappy and hastily made graph, but I hope it gets the point across.

Skill goes up, kicks go up, fun goes down. I'm not playing this game regularly anymore because it's the only one I know that punishes for skill.

  • Well, play with ally clans and such and whatnot. If you are indeed still in FoE we play quite often with you guys. And generally its quite fun, one of the few real GM clans serious enough and still alive remaining.

Generally if you do this gaming is much easier.

    Understand your pain though.

I am still in FoE, and thanks for the compliment :)

When I do play I exclusively play with clan, there's safety in numbers. Its ridiculous the amount of times I've been kicked which is why I gave up pubs unless I have friends or clan.

Well, if I see you more often, dunno where ya hang out, you got less of a chance of being kicked with us around. We know how you guys play. Most of FoE generally play with us in pubs when they want a better gameplay. But yeah, its hard to get a good decent gameplay these days. Especially in GM.

I'm more worried about the possible hindering patch and hackers currently than nubs kicking.
  • According to your graph
there is no skill involved in cf.
    [different shades of blue]

Naw there is, but it drastically decreased in ratio with the obvious reasons I won't mention, that died along with fun.

    Hackers: 1 in 5 games
Nubs kicking: 5 in 1 game

Dammit, I was hoping nobody would notice. Clicked the wrong blue and was too lazy to fix it ;[

He was talking about the color of the darkish blue with the one for the key, its sky blue lol

Indeed. Though 1 in 5 games of hackers is still far too much.

Nubs kicking can be lessened by allies greatly. 7 Is guaranteed, but usually 3 or 4 is enough to not get booted.
  • Would you shut the **** up with these threads. Here's my idea:

Is it possible to fix public games? (yea)

    Yes it is.
Have votekicking cost GP To call.
This will stop a lot of the rage kicking.

People will be far less apt to kick anyone better than them, if they wind up broke...

Sometimes, you have to understand, there are people in this world that won't understand ANYTHING except a punch right to the kisser....
  • lol my reason is down to the fact i have multiple other games that are far more interesting atm.

    I beg to differ.

At the beginning of your journey your skills is rather low, but crossfire is really really fun. You slowly get better and have more fun till certain point. Then you actually begin to have less fun then you had when the game was new, but you still keep playing. During this time you really only get kicked for being a noob and losing rounds for your team.

Once you begin getting better you start having more fun. Since the game is fun and you are getting better at the same time you play more and more. Until you reach "PRO" status. At this point your individual skill seems to hit a ceiling. The only way for you to get better now is to associate with better players. Even then you are so consistent your skill doesn't increase or decrease. You just learn more tips and tricks.

However having reached "PRO" status, people are kicking you more and more. Eventually you get tired of being kicked. This makes your fun factor crash towards the floor. You still retain your skill of being a "PRO" you just no longer want to play crossfire, because it isn't fun. You begin playing new games and are having more fun.

This ends your crossfire journey, until you come back in the future to see if you are still a "PRO".

I second this graph, based on my own personal experience. It kinda explains why I don't play CF often

This! Much better graph than mine, and you explained it perfectly.

    I freaking laughed at this.
  • My math teacher would give you an F.
You didn't give a title, didn't label what the numbers mean on the left side, and the bottom.
