Graphics Card Help..?

Does anybody know [if there is any] a great graphics card that you can get for around $55-$80 bucks that gets you about 200 fps in 5v5's?

    Thanks for the help >.>

obviously its not JUST for CF

but to clarify, CF is processor and ram based more so than video card based... so basically if u have a crappy processor and/or not enough ram... ur fps will suffer significantly....

    i have a -

    Intel Quad core Q8200 2.33GHZ

256mb ATI Radeon HD 3450 <- very low-end card, hopefully getting a 768mb Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) for xmas

    4gb Ram

    and i get 1v1 = 100-135fps | 8v8 = 50-120fps at 1280x800, 32bit, texture = high

    i lag in smoke =/

if i were you, id go for

    1gb ATI Radeon 4670 HD -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150449

also any of the 5000 series of ATI (5550 and up)

for Nvidia, thats a tougher question.. GTS 220-250's are great ... 9500 and 9800 GT's are great.. and 8800 GT's are great..... the best are the GTX 400 series' but they are out of ur price range :)

tbh it would be hard to find any card that could do what ur lookin for that is between $55-80 =/

but any of thoughs cards i suggested is better than mine lol by far!!

i dont know what im talking about? if you have over 60 fps in any game its useless because the refresh rate is 60hz of most monitors. you didn't show him a card that would give him 200 fps for under 80 bucks did you now? kids these days think they know everything

mmkay I'm playing in WOGL... that means I need to play as best as I can and I can't do that with 60 fps. I need more fps so I can get smoother gameplay... Obviously you have no "try-hard" experience so stfu, and learn more about computers before you say sh1t kthxbai!

"if you have over 60 fps in any game its useless"

    NOPE.

you should obviously learn about them. your screen refreshes 60 times per sec so how do you expect that 30 extra fps or 100 fps to help. just because you play in wogl doesnt mean you know what you're talking about, unfortunately for you, i do know what im talking about so next time think before you write anything. you wouldnt be asking this question if you knew much about computers

wheres your proof that its not?

Thats just your opinion that 60 fps fails others might think its excellent like me i play with 50-60fps i manage to do just fine with it.

i never said it fails. i said if your monitors refreshes at 60 times per pixel a sec then how would having more than 60 frames per second help you. i have over 100 fps but i know its absolutely useless. you cant see the difference because its not there. anyone who does is just thinking that in their head or they have a monitor with a larger refresh rate is probably unlikely since 60 hz is the most common.
  • 60fps is the smoothest game-play for the human eye in every game, yes

30fps is the minimal for the human eye until lag is visible, yes

but no graphic card will give u a stable fps .. let alone a straight up 60fps

basically, the better the fps, the smoother your game-play will be and without hic-ups

i have no idea why this is an argument? lol

while it is true that most monitors will be locked into a max of 60hz it is possible to have an LCD monitor with a refresh rate of over 100hz. Besides there is some advantages of having a higher frame rate. A given computer may process an image faster then the monitor can display it which leaves some extra processing power for parts of the game that are visually intense. Meaning the over head will allow the game to produce a smoother series of images by not dropping below the max level supported by your monitor. Not to mention that crossfire is not the only game, while I might get over 100 fps in crossfire, I might only get 60 fps on a more intense game.

So while in theory you are correct frame rates of over 60 fps can not be visually differentiated. Reality and theory are not always the same thing.

Same here I dont FPS lag but when it come's to smoke i lag as hell
  • If you want good fps in CF you'll be better of looking for a good processor, since CF is mostly PCU dependant, uses only one core tho.

YH ur right i played on my comp with 68Fps and then i tryed my friends 110 i felt alot of diffrence
  • Do NOT get the ATI Radeon 5***!
My brother has it, and it fails with CF..

And because something doesn't perform in CF, it's bad?

Seriously, there are games that are over 10 years old with better component support than CF.

OMG ur in WOGL u know every thing ! 60FPS are the smoothest gameplay 4 the human eye I would say u go learn something about computers and then come back trollin

I thought this topic was about giving some advice.
Not about some random nerd failing at proving he knows everything best.
    Guess I was wrong.
