  • I've mentioned this before somewhere, but a solution someone else provided is as follows.

Change your display resolution to a resolution crossfire supports, temporarily.
EG: If your laptop screens native resolution is 1366x768 change it to 1024x768.

Open crossfire and make sure you set it to match your display resolution, (1024x768).

Run the game and crossfire should be fullscreen, although it will be a little stretched to fill the screen horizontally. Can't do anything about this until the bring out more screen resolutions in-game.

Exit the game and change you display resolution back to it's native setting (1366x768).

Run crossfire again without changing anything and apparantly it has then worked full screen properly for some people.
  • My 15.6 screen adjusts and stretches to fit
  • the problem is not the monitor. i think that is the laptop. i have a laptop with the same problem, 15.6" and 1366x768. if u change it to 800x600 or 1024x768 is the same, it doesnt change, the 2 sides continue being black.
thats a laptop problem i think. and my laptop has more video than my pc but cant use it to play ^^
  • If you change your windows display resolution to a smaller size (EG 1012x768), does you windows desktop (not the game) also have black borders each side?

If the answer is yes read on...

Some laptops have an option in the BIOS called LCD Panel Expansion (It's called this on my Dell laptop anyway).
This determines how it will display the screen when the display resolution being used is lower (EG: 1024x768) than the native resolution of the screen (EG: 1366x768)

The two settings available are to either:-
    A) Stretch to fill the screen if a resolution smaller than the native resolution is being used
    or
    B) To keep the screen the same size as the resolution which results in black borders.

On my laptop (Dell XPS1710), this option is in the BIOS under Video. To get into the BIOS you need to press something like DEL, F1, F2, F10 to access the settings. The key varies depending on the manufacturer of the computer or BIOS.

There may also be an option for this in the display settings for some graphics cards.

UPDATE: I found the option for nVidia cards settings, under Adjust desktop size and position.
You can either use nVidia scaling (stretch to fullscreen), nVidia scaling fixed-aspect or no scaling (black borders).

ive tried this out but didnt streched the screen..

PS: my graphics card is ATI RADEON HD 5470..
  • anyone here has the same problem about 16:9 full screen? i still have this problem.. i think this resolution is not yet supported by the game, some has a native support.. i think for some, the screen stretches itself maybe coz the video card has the capability..
  • Solved

I had the same problem, but I found a way to fix it, I got a dell xps l501x. First it depends on what graphic card u have, if u have a both intel n nvidia, than right click on desktop, than graphic properties, than go on display tap than to general setting, than change the scaling to Scale Full Screen. This fixed mine.
