Limited powers - PMs

PMs meaning player moderators.

Mods should start spectating games. Find active players who are legit (skilled or otherwise), and start making player moderators. This sounds dangerous I know but hear me out.

whenever a player moderator uses his powers, a replay file is automatically sent in, if they are found abusing their powers, instant permaban of acc, IP, and MAC address.

PMs will have the following powers:

Kick - instantly kicks a player
To be used on first offence buggers (such as people climbing in crates)
Mute - Temporarilly (12, 24, and 72 hours, PMs do not set times, based on how many times you've been muted. To be used on people who spam swearing/abusiveness/advertisements or websites)
Ban - For use on hackers. PMs will again not be able to set ban length, bans for 1 day, 5 day, 1 month, permanent. Based on MAC address banning, not account name. Additionally, start a database (I'm sure the main server uses SQL, ADO, XML, or *something* that logs ALL accounts used per IP and ALL accounts used per MAC. Ban affects ALL associated accounts in the database.

After you get around 50-100 PMs, (preferably some who are active on multiple channels on multiple servers) you can stop scouring for PMs and take PM recommendations from prior existing PMs only. (of course each one to be reviewed before approval/disapproval)

The reason I suggest this is the following:

Hacks can be patched. But so can the hack.er's software

Autoban systems can be made,

And bypassed. (For example, X-TRAP and Gameguard use values to determine if a hack is being used, which can be frozen at 0, and autoban systems can be blocked with OllyDb or any run-time disassembler)

But Player Mods cannot be patched or bypassed. They are real people.

This has been extremely effective in other games I've played.

This is by far one of the best FPS games I've played... when you play with legit players. But it is rapidly losing points thanks to these dipwads.
