Xtrap error

Okay so I got my computer freshly reformated and set to factory settings, there is nothing yet installed on my computer exept Starcraft: BroodWar and some movies i managed to backup... I tryed to install Crossfire, did it well... first time I play everything runs fine! Then I went eating... that's where the trouble starts. I try to run the game for the second time and this is what I get :

What I've tryed to fix it :

-Shutting Firewall... check

-Opening TCP/UCP ports... check
-Performing a CLEAN unistall, restart computer then re-install... check

Help me, i'm kinda mazed here???

  • Hell, have exact the same problem.
    since 2 days now.

    - closed Firewall, antivira
    - closed processes
    - deinstall programmes which i have installed in the past days
    - Reinstall Crossfire, i also deleted the folder and everything else, what have something to do with Crossfire.
    - Deleted Temp files

A Possible reason. I was google(ing) suddently i was getting an message about "your system will shut down in 30 Seconds". Because Windows has found a problem.

And it started again. That happend twice to me yet. i restarted my pc 3 times today, but i didn't get this error again. It seems, it has to do anything with the xtrap.

    What i did:

    -Antivira
    -Advanced System Care
    -CCleaner
    -Registry Booster
    -HiJackThis

At least, some hardware errors got fixed, but x trap still wont work.

What i have found on google at the offically Team Germany Site:

    1. Start Windows in Safe Mode.
    - To get into the Windows Safe mode, as the computer is booting tap the "F8 key" continuously which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu".
    2. Click Start> Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs
    3. Click on CrossFire(Remove only).
    4. Click Remove then Yes.
    5. Once it is done. Check your CrossFire client directory if it's still there.
    Default: C:\Programme\Z8Games\CrossFire
    6. Delete the "Z8Games" folder inside the Program Files .
    7. Restart your PC and start Windows in Normal Mode.

do this work?, won't try this for nothing.

And to reply you, no I dont know if it works, i'll probably need to do things a bit different cause im running on windows XP CORP version so yeah... and no im not playing at job. lol
  • I hate to do this but, BUMP.... PLEASE HELP I don't wanna quit CF!!!
  • Probably a virus?

My uncle hes a computerfreak, he told that.
    He also had this.

My Windows do shut down after 30 seconds. and it starts again without problems.
since i've got this problem, crossfire wont work.
  • turn off your firewall andantivirus and also windows defender, download CF and reinstall it, make sure the whole folder is added to the exceptions list for w.Defender, your antivirus and firewall and then turn them back on.

    hey you play starcraft?
  • Yeah but I play offline only since I'm usinga RAZOR1911 copy of the game, and i'm bad at it, why do you ask?
  • The solution is, reinstall you OS, i did, and it works well again
  • i got this error last night, either way i had to reinstall my OS since i just put a new video card in and the old OS was acting up to begin with since the old video card crapped out. i did a fresh install today of CF and i'm getting this error which is a joke cuz nothing is wrong with my OS. once again XTrap is messing up. i think we need to drop Craptrap and get punkbuster.
  • Its FRAPS, i use fraps and i kept getting that error every 1 min, i read up on the forums about this people said its fraps, X-TRAP thinks its a hack or something, thats why we get that error, now since i've turned of FRAPS i have never got that Error,, this is today so, i suggest if u have fraps and u run it, dont run it.

i hope this works for you all
