Razer copperhead mouse help
Alright, so I bought a mouse(Razer copperhead) and it came in the mail today. It didn't come with a CD so I figured I'd search online for the driver. I downloaded the driver and ran it, and it said it needed me to insert my cd rom, I said more options, and it continued, after it was done it said I needed to restart, so I did. And my mouse still doesn't work, and when I plug it in, it acts as if I never installed anything, maybe I installed the wrong driver? Can someone give me a link as to the driver I need to install and what I need to do? I'm running windows vista 32. Thanks.

Well you dont actually need a driver for a mouse, the functions are built-in. I have recently uninstalled my driver and software and I find it works better!
But if you really want the driver installed, this is the one you want >

One last thing, with my razer copperhead mouse, the rubber around the mouse wheel seemed quite loose, so sometimes when spinning the wheel the rubber moves but the wheel underneath doesn't. They offered to exchange mine but I couldnt find the reciept, however a few drops of superglue under the rubber and it's perfect. -
It won't work otherwise I install the driver. Not that it didn't work when I installed the driver, but when I plugged it in it asked to download drivers. And I haven't gotten it to work, it lights up though.CyberCatUK wrote: »Well you dont actually need a driver for a mouse, the functions are built-in. If it helps, when I plug it in it makes 3 dull beeps. And I had it working for about 5 seconds but it stopped and said I needed to install drivers. Also, I plugged it into my desktop to see if it was the mouse, it worked almost instantly. So it's either my laptop or windows vista that's messing it up, anyone got any ideas on what I should do? My other mouse works fine with this laptop...

Sometimes after installing a device which goes wrong and windows will just do what it thinks is best and its very difficult to tell windows how to properly use the device afterwards.
How about trying a system restore to before you first installed the drivers, if its recent. Maybe then it will give you a clean state to try again?
I assume you have also tried other USB ports and not using a USB hub which could be interfering. -
No, it isn't the mouse, it's either my laptop or Vista. I plugged it into my desktop which has xp on it, and it worked perfectly, without installing anything. When I plug it into this, my laptop with Vista, it lights up, but it won't let me move my cursor.Uh oh. It it stops working and you restart your comp...
Then that means something weird happened. If you plug it into a diff comp and it doesn't work then you have to send yours in to get another one.
Happened with my death adder.
