USP vs. P228
Which do you think is better and why? Which do you think is better for Mutation and which do you think is better for regular play?
(I'd like to say I think it's a shame they chose the 9mm USP Tactical, I would've liked to see either the .40SW or .45ACP versions)

Wow this is a very good thread, when I first used the game my first impression was that it looked and felt like a modified p228.
I would have to say though that I still would choose the p228 over the USP anyday.
The USP is nice and the fire rate is nice as well but I think the p228 is a lot smoother is regards to accuracy. I mean when it comes to that last resort switching to pistol can save your life and give you enough time to reload your rifle. I have been playing a lot with the USP and I find that I do slightly better still with the p228.
The USP is very nice but it just feels to me like the accuracy is kinda off, or maybe it's just that sometimes you need to use that fire rate if your planning on really killing the guy and that in itself can throw off your accuracy. Of course you can always try to headshot the guy but you only have so much time because they usually have the upper hand because of a rifle.
IMO p228>USP -

I think there is a lot of hype going around about the USP and I think the only real reason that is because it's just new and people like new guns. And I think people are more happy about the fact that they got a new free perm gun more than anything. It is a badass gun though lol and exciting, but I still would prefer the p228 I have grown accustomed to it when I am not using my deagle. -
USP is free, P228 not. Pretty much said, I guess.
Talkin' about numbers: P228 is 13/39, USP is 12/36; P228 has more power than USP. USP gaves 100dmg on a headshot. Didn't play a lot with USP, but I guess it is a spray gun style, like P228, but 'free to have' version.

(I'd like to say I think it's a shame they chose the 9mm USP Tactical, I would've liked to see either the .40SW or .45ACP versions)It is the .45 ACP version, only the power they gave it is of the 9x19mm parabellum. If it was a true 9x19mm parabellum, the USP would have had 15 instead of 12 rounds in it.

USP>p228
and sometimes i think usp>desert eagle
this gun is so awesome... But for sniper still prefer deagle
So, what you're saying is that you can't kill somebody without smashing a button like a spastic?
P228 > USP, USP is terrible if you get a chest shot with it. -
the usp is the most accurate pistol in the game....Wow this is a very good thread, when I first used the game my first impression was that it looked and felt like a modified p228.

True dat but the USP is awesome it fires faster that the P228 and sometimes the Deagle (But Not All The Time) I love the USP
i am happy its Perm and not a limited time gun xD
USP>P228 -
I've had limited experience with both but I've gotta say I like the USP better. Of course I only play mutation since my computer stinks so the damage doesn't really matter to me, plus the nostalgia of using one of the most popular handguns in video game history and one of my favorite brands of firearms.

not really, it says "USP Tactical 9x19mm" on the slide.
