Option to Change Teams in uneven games.

I'd like to see a switch team option in the in game menu when the teams are uneven. that way we wouldnt get a desertion tagged on everytime we do it due to unfair teams

  • We so need this. Tired of versing an 8v3... less kills for me. ;)

Also a good way to practice clutching.
  • +1, but I would hate it if newbs changed to the winning side.
  • Insert "Why people hate auto balance in tf2 here".
  • A better solution is to have auto-balance.

Meaning players join on a list in the game room and the server decides which player goes where, depending on how many players are in each team at that moment.

This would require a new room type or new room creation option - the autobalance, because on which side you play its not decided by you anymore, but its "random", depending on the players in each team at that moment.

So who really really wants to play as ghost, for example, would not choose this room type, because if there are more ghosts than soldiers, then you would go in the soldiers team (autobalance).

how often does the winning side have less players?
    OT: +1

    Depends if I'm on it.

    Or if im on it
played a 1v4 sniper, guess who was winning ME!
  • agree with this, either autobalance based on rank, or the ability to switch teams without quitting would be good. currently the game fails massively and frequently obvious hackers or unbalanced teams have the say. generally tho i have been playing a long time, CF has got worse and worse at being a balanced game. (to the point of being unplayable) i would also like to see the option of having ping limits on rooms or servers. whats the point in having 4 uk servers if any ping can play there? atleast set low ping and high ping servers too. this has all been done before in enemyterritory, which happens to be completely free without any lottery or gambling (which IMO is a disgrace to force ppl to gamble) and has had systems like low ping games and balanced games, friendly fire on and off etc for years. for a game thats based on team work, a LOT like ET, CF seems to be catering to the ego shooters far to much than to the team players.
ps more of a TD player not a ghoster. still the idea has merit and has existed for about 10 yrs. as far as desertion goes, the whole concept is ridiculous. i kept my good honour till 4th stripe sgt or what it was then the hacking started and now everyone has bad honor, whats the point?... far more important to have a banana look gun tho
  • Two down sides 1) Noobs switch to the winning team 2) Noob switch sides to "kick all the hackers" on the other team i.e the top 3-4 players.

    +1
also if ACE is on the other team, they will kick just to get it
  • If the "change team" feature applies only when one team has less players than the other and is only possible from the bigger team to the smaller one, then most of the problems are gone :

    - players switching to winning team : w/o the feature you can just quit and and join the other team, some people already do that, if the winning team has more players, the "team change" isn't possible, just like it is impossible to join if team aren't even

    - players switching to kick good players : if the one you want kicked is in the smaller team, you can just quit and join it then launch a vote, people already do that (even quitting and joining again to circumvent the limited vote), this feature doesn't change that

This team change feature wouldn't add new noobish behaviour, it will just make those already existing easier to perform.

about your ping limits, in my signature is my suggestion for the North American Only server, I cover ping limits and ip restrictions for 1 server please go there and support it...

Yes I am suggesting that it only be available when the teams are uneven.
