in the US you have to be at least 15 and a half to apply for a permit but need parents consent. people can legally drive by 16 with a drivers license. -

It's 17 in the UK, which blows since I still haven't bought a car yet and I'll fully licensed.
I could have drove to college the first year if the legal age was 16.
There's also some talk about the legal age in the UK to be raised to 21 (yes twenty-one). -
Lol,in some states it's 15,but you need your permit for 12 months before you can get your license (age of 16 in most states) but it also costs money,if you get your permit at the age of 16 and wait till ur 17 for your license its free,no driving tests to pay for or anything (wich is atleast 100+ usd) thats what it is in georgia at least lol. and you may only have your permit for 24 months before getting a new one =]
