  • Crossfire isn't very optimized. What you see is what you get. Your only real option is to get a better graphics card.
  • No ^
This game is a processor Wh0re and will only run better if you get a better cpu.

    Crossfire Rec System

    GeForce 6600
    or equivalent class
    RAM 1GB or higher
    Pentium 4 - 2 GHz

I get ALOT higher FPS on newer games that demands ALOT more
from the PC than CF ,
And what iv'e heard then im not the only one with this problem
and that both CF China,Cf Japan,Cf Korea,Cf PH and even the newest CF Version
CF Russia dosn't have this problem with the game engine or netcode,

Still belives it is wrong on my GFX when i can for an example run
MW2 on highest settings with 80 + FPS in an 16 vs 16
and CF on highest in an 8 vs 8 with 40-50 fps?
  • The newest drivers that come, are made to get the best performance from new games, every version of crossfire uses an old engine thats why you get low fps.
  • If you're not recording ingame, turn all ingame settings to low and use all the offs and minimums for nVidia.

Then when you're recording replays, get some optimisation for textures and antialiasing.
  • Lol i have dedicated graphics so, i just get like 40 as well in 8v8.
  • game depends more on cpu then on gpu but here is what u requested

AF = x16 (for sharp textures)
    AA = OFF
    AA GAMMA CONTROL = OFF
    AA MODE = OFF
    AA TRASPARENCY = OFF
    TRIPLE BUFFERING = OFF
The thing with prerenderes frames (dunno im german its a different word here^^) from 0 to 8 set it to 0
    Multi Display... = Single Display
    Txtfiltering AAscan = ON
    Negative LOD Bias = Allow
TXT Quality = Max Performance (since u have x16AA u have sharp txt anyway :D)
    Trilinear Filtering = ON
Threaded Optimizing = OFF (will take even more cpu power for nothing - alway OFF!!)
Vsync = OFF (Vsync is extreme GAY it only generates an huge input lag:o
on vista not rly bossible to turn off - get XP it pays off!!!! )

    hope i helped u :D

also if u have much crap running in background like IM Browser or other C|2AP (if u play JUST play dude!) it may helps u to go to task manager and set priority from "crossfire.exe" to "above high" and set priority from "HGWG.exe" und "xtrap.xt" to very low - i did this on my business/office laptop which has only a pentium 2.1GHZ dc processor :S
    but it worked fine ~.^

anyway idc for fps on this cause normally i just use it for farming^^

i think ur cpu is more powerfull that his
  • This game doesn't have multi-core support, nor does it support newer drivers. As odd as it sounds, older computer that run with a single core and moderate graphics card will run smoother than newer comps with dual+ cores and b1tchen graphics.
  • imo geforce is good for CF
    mine is geforce220 1v1 200 5v5 130 8v8 60-90
    cpu is i3
  • I get 5-25 in 6 vs 6 without anything else major running on my computer >> Apart from CF...I envy all you high FPS/Low pingers.

I'm gonna try your settings now, hopefully it will work.

Epic Fail :D i got and X4 CPU and this game would be dfx optimized, nothing to do with more CPU ;)

    This ^

More than 1GB RAM would be abit better too.

it may not have multi core supports but i can make it run on both cores of my dual core
not sure if geforce9500gt is old driver set or new but i get 180-270 fps

heres a link to show u how to make crossfire.exe process run on both cores ( tested on intel cores only)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOdWqG87FUg&fmt=22
I KNOW VID AINT REALLY THAT GOOD I NEED TO MAKE ANOTHER
at the ned of the video u can clearly see both cores are sharing the process neither core tops out 100% like it did b4 i done it
